  1. No insurance for breakdowns, but that's my choice. **** happens I guess. The parts have arrived today, so hopefully I will be on the road tomorrow.
  2. After three years and less than 40,000 miles, the engine warning light came on on my 2 litre yeti this week. The car then lost most of its power as it was in limp home mode. Of course, I am overseas, more than 600 miles from home and unable to properly communicate with the local Skoda garage. Having plugged the car into his VAG computer he tells me the EGR has to be replaced. €350 parts and €550 for six hours labour to do the job. Is this just one of life's unfortunate incidents? Any advice?
  3. Thanks. So what do I loose if I select Australia? Can I do that myself? Surely this is not a European law thing. I have four other cars and none of them show km anywhere?
  4. I must be a numpty. Despite reading the manual and fiddling with the options, I still have a km/hour readout on my speedo. Everything else is in miles, apart from this one line of display. Does anyone know how to change this to miles per hour? Apologies for the picture quality. As you can see, range is in miles, then two lines below that is says 0 km/h. I stopped to take the picture! Thanks

    Roof bars

I was going to buy the whispbar system, something like this http://www.whispbar.co.uk/cars/skoda/yeti/2010/5doorsuvrails-6006 But then I found this http://cross-bars.co.uk/en/skoda-cross-bars/730145-skoda-yeti-whispbar-roof-rack-cross-bars-set-736745504288.html. Which is way cheaper. Have I missed something obvious? Sometimes if its too good to be true it isn't!
  6. Thanks for the replies. Lots to think about. Now I just need to get mudflaps, roof bars, a mat for the boot..........
  7. Thanks. Do I really need programming done? I am just pulling a small trailer.
  8. I am confused. I have read all the threads concerning towbars that I could find and I need advice which way to go. I have a 2010 2.0 litre Elegance that I have just bought. I only tow a little trailer, or a small dinghy. I don't care if the car beeps at me when I reverse. Still under warranty that I do not want to lose. I don't want something sticking out the back all the time. I have a very good local garage that has fitted towbars for me on other cars, but the Skoda dealer is a long way away. Do I buy on the Internet? do I need some sort of panel, or a new bumper from the dealer? Are there any makes of bar to avoid? What would you do? Advice greatly appreciated, thanks.
