  1. Ha ha! The automatic censor didn't like the name of the coastal town we stayed in in Cyprus so expurgated it. Begins with P and has a couple of Ss!
  2. Lots around Helmsley, though not many waves, and saw one last week in ****ouri, Cyprus!
  3. On the subject of squirts..... The forecast of deluge on its way to the UK next week made me think. If I squirt car wash shampoo on top of the car, will the storm give it a high pressure wash?
  4. Lots around Kirkbymoorside but I have yet to get a response.
  5. There should be a thread for the most obscure functions which no ordinary non-techies, like me, would normally discover. Don't mention the user's guide. It's incomprehensible to most normal people, again like me!
  6. A couple of afternoons ago it got quite dark during a shower. I noticed that my instrument lights slowly went dim till I couldn't read them and then slowly came on. They did this several times. I thought my new Yeti had an electrical fault. But when I switched the headlights on they went bright again. Is there a light sensor that prompts the driver to put the lights on when it starts to get dark? If so, I'm impressed! If not, damn, I've got an electrical fault.
  7. Thanks guys! A revalation to me also. Keep the hints coming.
  8. Tschuss Mitzi! I enjoyed your posts but doubt your credentials. You demonstrate a sense of humour which I cannot see emanating from Greifswald. While I would like to post to you auf Deutsch, the last time I did that there was a general sense of humour failure by Llanigraham and others of his ilk. I will therefore bleib stumm and see how this exchange develops.
  9. The altitude error is most likely due to the military owned satellites that provide the data. They provide a deliberate offset to non military users so that they cannot be used by the ungodly for weapon targeting purposes.
  10. Yoda arrived on Tuesday so I am a very happy wrinkly!
  11. Picked up my Beast this afternoon after 6 months wait, but it was worth every minute of it. Lovely colour, comfortable, a pleasure to drive, and I think I got the spec and extras absolutely correct for our needs. Herself is also delighted with it, so I'll have to look into changing the locks! Will post a photo in due course when I can work out how to.
  12. Mine took a week from manufacture to dealer, after a 6 month wait though!
  13. Dealer said that the Skoda factory quoted the small print in mitigation for not supplying the correct wheels and that there was nowt he could do about it. Following this forum's advice to make a fuss, I went on line to Skoda UK and explained the problem. This afternoon a very nice customer relations manager rang me back from SUK and assured they would look into it and get back to me. I am moderately optimistic of a satisfactory outcome. Fingers crossed.
  14. My Yeti has arrived at the dealers but with the original wheels, not the Spitzbergs I ordered. The dealer says Skoda have told them that Spitzbergs are not an option on SE Pluses, despite the brochure stating quite clearly that they are. Someone cocked up. Should I make a fuss or just bite the bullet?
  15. I am expecting delivery shortly and I asked my dealer (in York) if they could do exactly that for me. They said they were not allowed to. They had to deliver it as from the factory. Who was your dealer hmibennett? I see you are also from God's own country!
  16. I suspect my problem is accessing it on an iPad! Will try again on a proper computer.
  17. Excuse my ignorance but what is MY14?
  18. Seems to be last updated in March and only shows a few cars. Or am I missing something?
  19. Ordered my 1.2 TSI manual SE Plus on 3 March. Told today that build week is 35, which means 25 August. Delivery therefore anticipated 25 September. Is this a record?
  20. Saw five within 20 minutes on the A170 near Helmsley yesterday, including a very distinctive red with white roof.
  21. Reading this thread, in so far as I can understand it, I can't help wondering why I was censured and called an idiot for writing one post of constructive advice in German as guidance to a foreigner who had posted earlier in that language. I told him if he wanted useful information on this forum he would be better advised to write in English. As to my not finding the relevant rule, thank you Mods for drawing my attention to it but it is not easy to find. If you go to the Guidelines link at the top of the page, where you would expect to find it, there is no mention of it. I thought this was a friendly and helpful forum. Perhaps I was mistaken. Withdraws hurt.
  22. What rules? Where?

    Arrived

The good news! My Rosso Brunello Yeti with Spitzberg alloys arrived today! The reality! It cost £6.50 from Amazon and came by post at 1/72 scale. Another month to wait for the real thing but at least I can drool over the little feller in the meantime.
