  1. I must have got the wrong person. They weren't interested in discussing price at all. Maybe I need to go in there. The OEM+ is VW racing's own program but not much information available outside of VW on it
  2. HP had some sort of major falling out with APR so don't offer anything from them anymore so HP now only do the VW OEM+ tune with a bigger price and no proven history in our climate. Clutch packs are no better, just marked up VW parts. Australia pays through the nose on most things but car parts are extra nasty.
  3. Same here. I'm at the end of the handling mods so decision time is nearing. I've done some pretty hard laps on the 205/40/17 Dunlop's and they never missed a beat. The slightly higher profile on the 215/40 creates more roll in cornering but the Whiteline kit should eliminate most of that. Long term, I think 225/35/18 on a 18x8 rim is the better option over perhaps fitting the 215 to a 17x7.5 . Have a Skoda mechanic locally who does sprints. Just got to get some office time off to go down and chew his ear on tuning and wheel choice.
  4. In a heartbeat... Total Fabia nut here. A tuned DSG from factory would be awesome. A "Pure" edition. No fancy bits just performance technology.
  5. I officially hate you.... /skodaloversarcasm DSG? Options? Trim? Whatchoogot? Which wheels? Details - it's like a new baby - It's Father's Day here today so we need details!
  6. The resident Finance Manager has approved modifications following expiry of the statutory warranty 1st up - slotted vented discs and uprated pads brakes, - 215/40/17 up from 205 until I can afford 18s Fitted: GFB T9355 K&N Intake kit, new decals Coming this month: Resonator delete, rear muffler mod, Vogtland coilovers, Whiteline bars, bushes and drop links Later this year: HFI intake, TMC tuning, DSG tune, Wishlist: mmmRacers dump pipe, 18x7s or 18x8s, rear wing, respray and re-tint
  7. Any link or source for these headers? or are they something that a workshop would simply manufacturer custom?
  8. Trying not to be annoying but getting reliable information in Oz has been difficult - by breather mod do you mean the GFB T9 mod or do you mean a different alteration to the piping there?
  9. Nice to see you're still enjoying it - Can I ask a couple of questions - did the CAI only fit AFTER you got the small er battery? and how did you source the battery? I can't find anywhere that will straight up say they have the right I have Vogtland coilovers and a full Whiteline kit including bushes and links waiting to be fitted when I get a day off. I'm not looking at hill climbs, more street sprints where the car still needs to be legal to drive. Does the down pipe not lead to noise in excess of the street limit? (and I have that ceramic pipe bookmarked already) Hi Steve! (greenfabia) You can upgrade the clutch AND the diff in Fabia? The diff seems more or less something I would expect but I would have thought the clutch kit something fairly specialised. Who would make something like that? Got anything on youtube of the Fabia in action?
  10. I've agonised over it but I think the HG Motorsport one up there represents the best balance of rear of install and performance.....
  11. Thanks guys. Sorry if I wasn't specific enough. I've ordered from Superskoda before but the postage is a literal bomb to Australia, and searches for the ITG Maxogen never lead anywhere definitive - the one pictured on Awesome GTI seems to be intended for the lower capacity Fabias not the VRS so working out what will fit is challenging from over here. Schumi's Build thread I've looked at a few times but the pictures rarely load at all, sometimes saying the account is private or leading to APR.com.au which no longer trades in Australia. If anyone has a favourite source for parts that has looked after you I'd love to hear from someone. Thanks again for the pointers
  12. Hey guys. There never was many of the VRS MkII in Australia, about 300 remain, so getting parts can be next to impossible. I've recently managed some Vogtland coilovers and a Whiteline kit but I'm stuck on a decent cold air intake. Any recommendations for anything I can get shipped here. The VW Racing Line kit is pretty much the only one in stock anywhere and 800 Australian dollars. If you've got your favourite sources for anything to help a guy out? Good places to get decals, OEM parts, trim etc. Postage from Europe is often more than the part itself. I'd love to source a wing or roof spoiler like the R2 or R5
  13. Awesome effort. Great commitment to corner speed and line.
  14. I looked into this one before and it was a different down pipe set up
  15. Awesome in blue mate. My wife has a red RS and mine is white with decals. We even take them to the track for leg stretching. We're on the gold coast. You in Tassie then? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  16. Your wheel alignment is stuffed. Pretty much impossible to pull your suspension off and fit new gear without throwing the alignment out. Off to the servo with you Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  17. Congratulations NZ. Well done. I hope West NZ follows suit soon :-) Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  18. Nice off camera flash. Now I want a yellow one. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  19. They are not compulsory here yet (Australia) , most people, even the police, don't even know what they are. As driving/fog light use is illegal in city areas, people with DRLs are getting pulled up and have to explain themselves. I had mine turned on for ages but have had to turn them off because of all the abuse I was getting from other drivers. Knobs. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  20. Thanks everyone. I typed a huge replky but the server garbled it...
  21. In Australia we register or cats for a year at a time, get a sticker for the window with the month and year of expiry on it and that's it. Every time I talk to people from the UK, they say things like I can't display the plate because my car is only a 56 plate I can't take my car to the track because my car is only a 62 plate I can't fit that part because my 55 plate will fail my MOT.... Please explain Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  22. Oh no I wasn't commenting on your lens, just the length, yours is obviously a different lens altogether. I was just saying if the OP chose to get the same length lens in a Nikon, THAT particular lens is a stinker. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  23. The 28mm Nikon lens is a cheap piece of garbage. Look for reviews online and you will see. For your D3100 you want either the 24mm f2.8 AF or the later AF-D The D just means the lens sends distance information to the camera, but otherwise the same lens. The 24mm is a significantly better design, and almost as cheap. Plenty on eBay. The reason for choosing the 24mm focal length is that your DX format senator has a 1.5 x crop factor. So using a 24mm lens will be the full frame equivalent of 36mm, an almost perfect perspective. If you want to spend a fraction more, look at the Sigma 24mm f1.8 Macro, also a cracker. While you will see this lens online for as much as 900 USD, you can find it in Hong Kong as little as 475 new. Cheaper second hand of course. 24. Yep. What Graham said. I found a reference in the locking and unlocking section of the manual but the phrasing is so poor that it took three reads to really understand what they meant. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
  25. Careful you might get stuck in a hole.... My wife is laughing her head off on the lounge. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk HD
