  1. hi there, i use the same tyres and have no probs at all, infact i could'nt wait to get the oem bridgestones off.hope that helps a little.
  2. greetings folks, can anybody assist in telling me what colour the strip at top of screen is? was coming home last night and for no apparent reason the screen cracked at the bottom.i rang insurance for replacement and they asked if it was green or grey?im colour blind so didnt have a clue:rofl: car is 55 fabia vrs. cheers
  3. hi mikesm56,i specifically asked for new filter at service couple of days ago also asked for all other filters to be done even if it was'nt due this service  ive been to the kind chaps at chesham motors (bury) today who free of charge vag-com'd my car and no fault codes listed.the chap looked at my fuel usage and agreed something was'nt right he also said he was pretty sure it was'nt the maf either although he said it my be the the temp sensor causing over fueling?
  4. cheers ric04vrs i just wonder if thats the case why the car has'nt done this in previous years?
  5. thanks guys, all help is truly appreciated.i know its very difficult to try and sort something blind so to speak, just looking for a few pointers.cjb, ive had the car from new and even when ive driven it like ive stole it the mpg has never ever been lower than average 40mpg,im just managing that now driving it correctly.keep the ideas rolling though
  6. was waitin for you lummox cheers for helping, could you trawl the depths of your knowledge for any other pointers. cheers.
  7. i cant see it being a leek only because the trip computer overall average is 52( and the last journey average is 35-40(a) i cant get the average above 55mpg even when driving like a granny where as when everything is normal 60+mpg is easy to do.thanks for advice though cjb,i will double check tomorrow.
  8. cheers lofty, just trying to get some ideas together:thumbup:
  9. sorry furbie vrs with 23k on clock just out of warranty by a week!
  10. hello all,bit of help needed really maybe from lummox or other kind techie,my mpg has gone awol! i know some people complain about mayb 2-3mpg but mine has dropped by 15-20mpg.it does'nt seem to be smoking anymore than usual.had it serviced yesterday by seat garage just to make sure it was'nt that, garage said no probs on vag-com.would vag-com pick up on maybe a faulty maf sensor?any help would be most kind
  11. hello, just my 2p worth.better half has an auris 2d4d spirit (top of the range).its a fine car for what it is and thats good at almost everything! it isnt outstanding just all round good.sure it has it quirks but does'nt every car a good example being the A pillar,it does'nt bother me personally but ive heard several people moan about it.i think the seat leon has same problem if my memory serves me right.the auris interior is a much nicer place to be than my furby vrs less noise generally but then its that bit more expensive.as for cost picked up the auris for £13k with 3k on the clock almost brand new and dealer service is far better than what ive ever had from skoda!
  12. have to agree dstev they are an ugly car! after saying that ive just bought one.its far superiour to my fabia vrs which is positively a tractor in noise terms and rattles and creeks like a 10 year old motor! i bought the 2.0d4d and it runs very well for not alot of money,we traded a golf for it which was the worst most unreliable car ive ever owned.
  13. thanks for the pointers people,it would appear that zebra seems to have the answer and its very simple ! rev the engine a little more and hey presto the problem seems to be sorted? im not sure if this really is the end of the matter but ive been judder free for 2 mornings running!
  14. how strange zebra, had my 2nd year service last week and sure enough they changed the brake fluid! it did judder before that tbh but no where as bad.thanksfor your input.i'll see what happens in the morning and maybe take it to the steelers
