Main dealer recall - courtesy car charge? :(
zouche replied to zouche's topic in General Automotive Chat
Well, in the end, it turned out to be a moot point - my insurance didn't cover courtesy cars (other than the ones they supply), and I was able to get a lift to/from the dealer. So, no need for a loan car. As far as the cost was concerned, the invoice stated the cost to be: £121.23 (without VAT). Seems no different on the short drive back from the dealer. Also they washed it (not particularly well, but hey). -

They want it for at least 2 hours (it has to completely cool apparently) and as I work Mon-Fri and Sat appointments are scarce, courtesy car is the easiest way. -

Thanks for the advice guys (and sorry for the late reply!). I will check with my insurance tomorrow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Just arranged for my Fab vRS to go in for the DSG oil change and the dealer wants to charge £11.99 for an insurance waiver on the loan car excess - to reduce it from £5000 (!) to £250. Do dealers normally charge this for warranty/recall issues? Seems a bit rich...

Well, I think I will do my best to come along to this one! Missed a couple I think...? Last one I was on holibobs, can't remember about the one before? I'll make my mind up which car to come in!!

Well, I didn't see a single MX5 in those pictures....! Should have dragged myself along. Oh well - soon. Looks like I missed a busy meet

I'll not be making this one in either car I'm afraid (so not too much of an MX5 takeover!). Illness stops play :( Next time - hopefully!

MK2 Fabia - is it a magnet for stones?
zouche replied to Ally_bassman's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Yep, mine's got a ton and they seem to show up very easily on a black car. Also got a couple of very annoying ones on the rear 1/4s. How they got there I don't know. -
Bring your best. photo of your car. any mk2 fabia welcome

Would be great if you could have a look at mine - would like the power steering setting checked and the 'beep on lock' if possible?? :)

Yep, there was a sneaky cop car lurking in a pull in a little way up from West Meon on my way home.... Good job I was being good at the time! Was a great meet, looking forward to the next (might even wash the car first!)

Replacement speakers will undoubtedly improve the sound quality provided decent speakers are used. The standard speakers are paper coned with limited power handing and distort very easily. I spent a few extra ££s and added front component speakers (tweeter and woofer in stock positions), some door sound deadening, an amplifier and a slimline sub for the boot. Vast increase in quality albeit at a price. Worth it for me as i spend up to a couple of hours a day in the car commuting and like to listen to quality sounds!

Just checked mine using this site and it shows a recall is required... Doesn't say for what but I assume it must be the gearbox as I was told at last service it did not need the wire harness fix.
-
that does sound like me....... Wasn't though I'm afraid!
