We are thinking along these lines !! Trusty Octavia serviced & taxed for 1 more year . Now contemplating a 1.8 TSI 4x4 Yeti ( late Reg perhaps ) as mileage is possibly too low for diesel , about 12/14000k & will be watching the prices !!. The Duster does offer a lot of space / boot size fine for us ,but with several build & quality control issues IN SOME of the cars from the Indian factory ( & spares availability - months for some to come in apparently) we are not prepared to take the risk at present .( Just noticed 2010 30000m Yeti 1.8 TSI at Arnold Clarke @ £13488 1 owner with FSH .is this cheap ?)

Could it just be the heat affecting the orange engine warning light sensor , as in the case of our Mk 1 Octavia during a heatwave ?? This actually resolved by itself , emissions etc checked by a dealer and all was well . .

Just spotted now ! ! Yeti - 2.0 TDI CR 4x4 in Candy White brand new 50 miles on clock choice of 6 @ £16990 on the road , on Jewsons Skoda of Oxford website . Don't know if of any help to anyone ? Price seems really good ....

Octavia owner , looking to replace trusty 1.9 tdi Elegance Estate 2004 with 4x4 , either Dacia Duster or Yeti ?! Now no contest ,as Duster new vehicle reviews are truly hit & miss eg RUST / BAD TRIM / BRAKES / ENGINE MANAGEMENT etc - in car launched a few months ago - no contest !! Going for the Yeti or another Octavia for reliability !! Wise choice we think !? Build quality re Yeti so far more superior ....!! Any comments re topic welcome ... as going for either 2.0 tdi 4x4 or 1.8 tsi 4x4 mileage around 12000 k per year !

Don't know if anyone can help ? We need a replacement rear seat assembly for the Octavia !! Any ideas welcome !!

We have had numerous driver door lock issues over 9 years of ownership ... needed new lock mechanism at least 3 times ( door winding mechanism ) - replaced by local garage 1/12 ago . Annoying as a nurse , I couldnt get in or out of car on drivers side ! So had to be done ..... last cost around £ 200 at local garage rates !! This has been the bugbear of our Octavia !! Hopefully new (er) Yeti will deliver ??!! Good luck on fixing it as it is SO FRUSTRATING !!

Very tempted , but cant still decide between muscovado brown 1.8 Tsi or diesel DPF ( Need a 4x4 ) Mileage about 15k per year ( ish ) P. S . any feedback on the dreaded Dacia Duster ??! ! ( Seems to have loads of problems ) Any feedback welcome !! If not trusty Octavia serviced / mot for 1 more year !!

Nigel Kay & Alex are friends of ours !!!! Known many years !! Small world Try Thariks Indian Resturant upper part of West Street, Tavistock, + Trout & Tipple + Peter Tavy Inns north of Tavistock. A CAMARA Guide might be useful!

As husband & I moved from Tavistock to Herefordshire just over 1 year ago , can vouch that if it rains in Devon ( particularly Tavistock on Dartmoor) you wont have to worry about washing the car at all !!! Enjoy Cornwall , Mowellham and the Steam Railway at Launceston with Nigel & Kay ( with Alex"s help on occassions!! ) Hope it keeps sunny .... :sun: ( Hopefully -Yeti 4x4 owners soon)

Thanks !! Any feedback on this forum re Duster?! Now looking at diesel Yeti perhaps....fingers crossed !!. Short trips 8 - 10-13 miles but include dual carriageway, so able to give a good run (depending whats in front !! At legal speed !!!) Trusty Octavia still returning around 40/43 to GALLON !!! (not litres!!)

Husband and I looking to replace 9 year old Octavia estate with a Yeti possibly 4x4 but worried about DPF problems...! What is the 1.8 TSI like to run ? Mileage about 14k per year.Any advice welcome !!!! (P.S...He didnt like the Dacia Duster at all l!! )
