  6. hi i have had a water leak in too the car via the pollen filter housing and fixed this i also had one on the O/S/R door from the inner door panel leaking but i sorted that i checked the other threads on water leaks checked the wires under the passenger foot well and they seem to be ok some of them are a bit green but not to the extent of some of the pics on here but none of my interior lights or my puddle lights on the wing mirrors work so is there something i have missed please help running out of idea's any advise would be much appreciated. Oh and my heater control motor the one that switches from hot to cold air doesn't work is this related.
  7. hay andras i have finally brought my cream leather interior electric memory heated front seats, heated rear seats all door cards and centre arm rest plus the heated seat switches now my question is how did you wire the seats in is it just a live and earth to the electric bit and to the heated switches and then to the seats if so where is the best place to take this etc or do i have to have the proper loom (i hope not ) i managed to get the Lauren and Klement interior out of a 2007 superb (3U4 model) for £350 all in which i didn't think was to bad should be here wednesday then hopefully fitting the weekend depending on the weather. hope you can help with my wiring question many thanks Chris
  8. wife has gone into labour and i also found out the superb will do 145ish MPH ;-)

  9. What i don't understand is why would you have to check the toe with the wheels raised in the air, i must admit we never done this when i worked for VW in the 10 years i was there.
  10. loving the door cards look smart as, i want cream leather in mine as i have cream cloth but trying to find it at a reasonable price is almost impossible. loving the look of the whole car,
  11. the upper shock bolt from memory are accessible from the wheel arch i'm pretty sure its just a case of pulling the arch liner down a bit. i'm not sure what the torque setting is but if you want i'll have a look once in work in the morning but i'm sure FT ( effing tight ) is tight enough.
  12. I worked for nearly 10 years at a VW dealership and it's most likely the rear shocks causing your problem the rear sub-frame bush will contribute to the worn tyres but only very little. the wheel bearing noise heard is the stepped pattern on the inner edge of the tyre fighting against the camber on the road. the best way to check if it is a wheel bearing is drive at approx 20mph and sway slowly left to right transferring the weight onto wheels, if the noise happens when you sway left it will be the right wheel bearing and vice-verse as the bearing gets loader when the weight is off of it. but i would go with changing the shocks 1st.
  13. with the cold air feed try NOT take it from the lowest part of the car take it as high as possible because if your in an area that is prone to flood it will take in water and that will not do you any good the best place is where the original in-take is.
  14. to be honest you would have better performance with a K&N/pipercross panel filter as a cone filter draws in too much air and you stand a grater chance of stalling the turbo. but if you do decide to keep it on there put a cold air feed directly onto it as its better for the engine to draw in dense cool air.
  15. 1st time VAG owner and i worked for VW for 10 years.

  16. hi i'm new to this but i was just wondering as i've been reading loads of conflicting threads on here about fitting hid kit. i also have a 2005 skoda superb 1.9 pd tdi 130 chipped decat pipe and straight through middle . but on to the hid kit i have ordered error free 1's but do i have to get the ecu recoded to stop a surge to the wiper motor or do i just plug and play. if you could help it would be much appreciated as i have read that you fitted 1 but didn't mention anything about using vcds to code them in.
