  1. could this be the reason for the leak, when I took it off the insulation plastic was wet can I repair it with a rubber sealant maybe? any ideas?
  2. well I´m just wondering if It´s alright to skip it since I´m going to sell the car
  3. hello there I own a skoda octavia mk1 year 2003 with automatic transmission I bought it in 2010 and since then I´ve driven 75.000 km and I have never changed the automatic transmission fluid should I change it or should I just let the next owner do it since I´m trying to sell it? They say it costs about 140$ where I live and I only get about 3.300$ for the car best regards from Iceland
  4. hello I found out where the leak is coming from in the boot of my 2003 skoda octavia mk1 hatchback do I maybe have to take off the rear light or the bumper to see what is happening? cause it´s coming from a place I can´t get near from inside
  5. ok the locking event happened in this order: 1. I pushed on the open car button on the key remote 2. all doors got unlocked 3. then I just opened the passenger side front door and put the keys on the chair. 4. then I closed the passenger side front door 5. and then it autolocked and I couldn´t get in so do you think I can open the door on the passenger side? would that be deadlocked also?
  6. I have managed to put a long wire with plastic strap in front on the inside handle on the drivers front door, but when I pull out the handle, nothing happens?? why??? it only locked itself when I closed the door!! so it shouldn´t be deadlocked
  7. hello there I managed to forget my only spare key on the passenger seat in my skoda octavia mk1 ambiente and then when I closed the door it auto locked the vehicle so I can´t get in do you guys have any ideas how to get in the car without breaking a window? I´ve heard about some boot entry with some tools you can use? it´s 2003 model.
  8. hello there after a oil change there comes a strange sound from the machine. It doesn´t start when I start the car but starts when I hit the gas pedal and then stais on for few minutes here is a video of the motor and the strange sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzypKYPgFOM&feature=youtu.be do you know what this could be? it has been driven 151.000 km it´s a 1.6 liter gasoline 75kw 102hp 2003 skoda octavia mk1 ambiente
  9. well I talked to a guy here in iceland who is working for a windscreen company and he told me to start to try add a PUR on the inside. He said they do It themselves. I wen´t with the car there and they looked at it and saw that it had had a new windscreen fit on it maybe 6 years ago. And the reason for the leaking is that the PUR is getting loose from the glass, so I bought some PUR from them and am going to try to add it from the inside. I also got a cleaner and a primer with the PUR. The guy told me to cut off the PUR where there is a leak and add the PUR there and also add PUR all the way across the screen. Will I need to use this cleaner and primer product also or are they only added to the windscreen? the products are: dinitrol 520 and 530 and the PUR is dinitrol 501FC
  10. I´m wondering If I could open up a small slit between the rubber trim and the red paint on the top. I could use the end of a sealant tube to maybe put it in between and then it would maybe fix the leak?
  11. is it possible to remove the top trim of windscreen, because I´d like to reseal under it with some silicone and then add the trim again after resealing I add a picture for you to see where I need to reseal this is a skoda octavia ambiente 2003 hatchback the trim is number 4 on this homepage picture: http://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/octavia-mk1/body/body_work/glazing/window_mechanism/glued_windows/summary_of_components_of_windscreen/
  12. I think the problem is there on the pic there is a small gap between the roof and the black rubber
