  1. I feel dreadful too. I started with a very sore throat on wednesday night, literally hours after collecting my new octavia!! (I'm new to skoda). I can't remember the last time I felt this bad with a cold.....years! My head is going to explode! On top of all that, I need to take my son to football (away match) in the next hour, so the thought of having to stand pitchside until lunchtime isn't appealing to say the least! I think I may do the only decent thing and sit in the car, read the manual and see if I can figure out how the buttons work! Hehe
  2. Hi. Just thought I'd pop back to say I've got my new car and it's great! Everyone who's seen it has been very pleasantly surprised too.
  3. Hi. I collected my new car last night and have to say I love it! I've been studying the manual, although between work, home etc, haven't had that much time to get to grips with it all yet. However, I did have a little moment this morning. I managed to stall the engine at a junction (I don't think I'd quite got the seat position right), and must admit I panicked a bit when the engine didn't simply restart when I turned the key. After a couple more failed attempts, I removed the key completely, and tried again. It did start up, but I must admit it left me a little concerned. I've since looked in the manual, and it does mention something about the petrol engine not restarting for 30 seconds, but I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong, or is it something unique to the Octavia. This is my first ever Skoda, and I previously had a keyless diesel megane, so I'm probably well and truly out of date with things! Sorry if I sound like a complete girl(!). Has anyone else experienced this problem? ps... love my new car!!!!!
  4. I'm actually only collecting the car today, as I've been waiting for it to be 'supagarded'. Hopefully it will help protect the interior, although I know I shall have to be far more diligent when it comes to car care.....not my strong point! I may well post for advice too, as you've kingly suggested. Thank you. Getting ready to say goodbye to my megane which I have to say has served me well for the past nine years.
  5. LOL. I know they're not being intentionally rude or ignorant (i've probably been guilty of it myself in the past). It's quite amusing to just watch peoples reaction, and listen to them try to be polite and complimentary, whilst at the same time not poo-pooing my choice, to which they can see I'm pleased as punch about! I can't seem to remove the grin on my face to be honest. (That may happen sooner than planned, once the realisation of having a cream interior really means to me!!!!...eeeek!)
  6. and bought a Skoda! I'm due to collect it later this week and can't wait. Friends aren't quite sure how to react when I tell them I'm buying an Octavia, but it's obviously not 'cool'! Pah....... I don't care though.... I've got a huge grin on my face and am more than happy with my new purchase. :sun:
  7. Sorry...just noticed it's already been suggested!
  8. How about Captain Jack Sparrow, so your height would be an advantage! I believe the films were Disney productions.
