  1. Hi Guys and Gals, I had my clutch upgraded again today, needed to swap to a single mass and it came with another clutch, so the old clutch is surplus to requirements. The clutch has only done 7k miles, I had it replaced as the dual mass flywheel I was running had died, because the car is running to much power for it. The DMF has been binned however they can buy one in. The garage that did the work are holding on to the clutch for me and are offering to fit it at a resonable price (based on what I paid the first time round ), if your interested please contact Midland VW via Facebook or Phone. If you have any question please don't hesitate to contact me or the garage. More info and specs can be found here: https://www.akstuning.co.uk/clutches/373-helix-orgnic-clutch-kit-for-vag-tfsi-engine.html#/select_drive_plate_type-organic_drive_plate/with_or_without_fywheel-flywheel_not_included I highly recommend these guys - they have rebuilt my car from the ground up! Thanks, Jamie
  2. Well it's been a while since I updated this so thought I would chuck a quick update on. This year was a big one for the car, in early January I found that the K03 turbo had almost "died" so went down the path of replacing the turbo, but didn't go standard replacement. Instead went for a K04 revo tweeked turbo with stage 3 revo software. While they had the engine out, I took the opportunity to have the engine rebuilt and fitted forged internals. So it now has the following extra mods: · K04 turbo kit · RS4 injectors · RS4 Low Pressure fuel pump · RS4 fuel regulator valve · Wossner Pistons · ZRP Rods · AirTech Large Black Intercooler · Revo Induction Kit 3 inch We ran it on the dyno, with a dodgy clutch and managed 340bhp and 480nm. I took her to Germany in April and despite the clutch slip it flew down the Autobahn at an exhilarating speed of 140 mph. Two months ago, I finally saved enough money to purchase a Helix sport organic clutch and a wavetrac LS differential. Since doing that it’s been so much better at taking corners and applying the power, no more clutch slip Unfortunately, I’m writing this without my car parked on the drive as it’s currently sitting in a workshop waiting for a lovely technician to have a look at the gearbox, as it’s having a wee problem of selecting gears and occasionally getting stuck in gears. Fingers crossed this isn’t an expensive issue So, I will leave you with a picture of the shiny cylinders, pistons and an archive picture of my car. Thanks for reading!
  3. I have run both Michelin PilotSport 3's and PilotSport 4's - the 3's lasted a little bit longer than the 4's but the 4's feel like they have more grip and are great in all conditions. Highly recommend the Michelin PilotSport 4's.
  4. It was indeed, it was in really good condition as well. A good looking car.
  5. Thank you both for the information, the pictures on the website make it a little more difficult to judge which one is which, so just wanted to double check so I didn't buy the wrong ones. Thanks for the help.
  6. Hello, I'm running a K04 on my vRS currently running at 338bhp. The turbo is suffering from surging while under boost, which is related to the K&N induction kit not being big enough, so that will be sorted however it also surges when taking my foot of the accelerator and from what I have read this will reduce the life of the turbo. So the question is, is it worth fitting a blow off valve or a better Diverter value? If so which one is best to go for? Thanks
  7. Afternoon, Looking to get a new set of bolts for my car (along with different spacers), just wanted to double check which type of seating is required. Is it R12 Radius or 60° Taper M14x1.5? Also if I'm not mistaken, the standard thread length is 27mm? Thanks
  8. I'm renewing with Adrian Flux at the moment, with a Stage 3 vrs (and lots of other mods), they wanted £800 but managed to get them down to £619. The comparison sites made me laugh, they just returned sill quotes one I think was around £2000
  9. Yes that does sound about right. Let's just say, it seems that Skoda skimped a bit on the earlier model cars and the radio system unless you bought one with the Columbas. However I understand that they have re-worked the firmware and the new versions of the bolero are “okay”. My problem is I can’t warrant spending the money on upgrading the firmware when I have other modifications to spend money on and my app is making my life a little bit easier. Still not ideal though.
