  1. Surprised they aren't on here already. Bought my partners Fabia Monte Carlo from here, as she was looking to replace her Seat Ibiza FR due to the diesel issue, and very poor service from the Seat dealers. Plus our German Shepherd wouldn't fit in the boot. My partner was very impressed, test drove a hatch as no estate available, and prefered it to her Ibiza. Can't fault the sales staff who where very attentive, and the service we get when the car goes in for it's monthly wash. I have a mk2 Octavia, and a Fun, and the parts department have been very helpful with giving me the specs of fixings for the Fun from the parts catalogue, as most are now unavailable. With the Monte being 1 year old, they text and called to confirm booking in for it's first service, which was undertaken on a Saturday. Nice to see a dealer willing to go that extra mile for the customer.

  3. Picked up a Fun last week as a company vehicle. T reg with 101K on the clocks. Needs a little titivating and could do with some replacement Fun specific items, though I understand parts are rare. First job is brakes and wheels, looking at a 6N2 Polo GTi set up, or a VW2 with vented discs as fitted on my Mk1 Golf GTi. Wheel wise I have several sets of 14s in the shed but would really prefer 15s. Any advice on the above and possible spares location greatly appreciated.
  4. Looking at xman750's post it looks like they may be the Audi TT upgrade for the Fabia, so may try and sell them on and source the correct carriers
  5. So, after several months and a house move, I finally get round to fitting my "VRS" callipers and discs to my '07 2.0 PD Tdi stage 1. Only I don't! Callipers bought of ebay as MK2 VRS, with carriers. Disc and pad set from Mtec, grooved/drilled discs and Mintex pads. Had the callipers serviced by a mate who works at an aircraft brake manufacturers, then painted them in hi-temp blue. Jacked the car up, sat it on axle stands and stripped one side down, my original discs and pads are shot so needed replacing. Looked at the callipers and noticed they were slightly different, but mounted the same on the carriers, fortunately I hadn't disconnected the brake hose. Checked the carriers and they were wrong, no thread in the hole, and the hole was smaller than the carriers on the car. Even the discs wouldn't fit as they were too small to get over the hub, though the centre bore is correct. Did the VRS have different hubs to the standard cars when the made the Mk2? Or have I fell foul to somebody selling Mk1 callipers as Mk2 items?
  6. Look very good, is that etch primer on the left? Have found that etch primer works best as the first couple of coats on alloy
  7. 7 inch wide rims, 215 gives a nice "square" look 225 is the biggest you can fit but looks more like a balloon. As I went from a 205/55 x 16 the 215/40 is closer to the original rolling diameter than the 225/40 (gives an actual 29.9 mph rather than 30.3 mph at an indicated 30mph) and I prefer the squarer look.
  8. So far (in the two weeks I've owned it) I've fitted pressed plates, Briskoda plate surrounds, Heko wind deflectors, Vanstyle uv car shades, LED lights (various) and a set of 5 spoke 18's with 215/40 tyres. Will be lowering it, and remapping when the warranty runs out
  9. I'll be there on the dubshire stand again Overnight camping with a few sherbets
  10. One of the first things I bought when I got my Octy, had them on previous cars, have also fitted privacy/uv blinds from vanstyle UK http://www.vanstyle.co.uk/shop/skoda-c-2729_3662.html

  12. Fairlane in Telford quoted me approx. £480 for the job on my Octy tdi, said it's part of the national pricing policy
  13. Hi, Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Si from currently living near Wolves. I've just purchased an '07 Octavia 2.0 Tdi PD Elegance estate. Finding it much nicer than my Vectra to drive, with significantly more power and much better fuel economy. Good job as I'm just becoming redundant from the RAF after 28 years and start a new job in 2 weeks working at Gaydon under contract for Jaguar Land Rover. Looking forwards to making the most of the forum and offering help where I can
  14. Mine turned up today, some small pieces of tape on and two metal clips for each one. Took 15 minutes to fit.
