Will clean the throttle body over the weekend. As for the split hoses, is there any in particular that I should check?

I have a MK1 turbo elegance. Driving at around 1500 - 1700 rpm it stutters, sometimes to the point of the car almost coming to a standstill. It feels like hitting the rev limiter and the ecu cuts the power. Took it for a service yesterday and mentioned it to them but they said they found nothing. I took that to mean they didnt look. I dont have vag com and dont know of anyone in my area who has. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Finally got the car on a Rolling Road

I had a CAI on my remapped 1.8T and compared to the panel filter, it only felt more urgent above 5000 rpm. I reverted back to the panel -
I had to change a wheel bearing recently. The fact that the noise changes as you change direction indicates its a front wheel bearing. Also, jack the car up, hold the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock and rock the wheel. If there is movement - wheel bearing failure. You can spin the wheel. If it is not smooth - wheel bearing issues

Thanks for the advice. Will let you know if I am successful

Thanks for the info. I have however seen a hand held scaanner on the web that I am thinking of buying. Can anyone tell me how good it is and would it help me reduce the main dealers profits (see attachment)

I followed the instructions to the letter. It kept telling me connection not detected

Hi Guys, I want to purchase a Vag com. I purchased one on ebay that didnt work. Point me in the right direction please Thanks

Sorry guys I meant 400ft-lb of torque. It is a TDi 130

Have aquired a 1.9 TDi and in the process of modifying it. I have the brakes and the suspension to fit but now its time to think about more power. I am looking for around 300 lb-ft of torque. My research into that sort of diesel perfomance has pointed to hybrid turbos. Are there other options and where would i find such information

Thanks for the advice and yes, I do keep it in my back pocket

Hey guys, Can someone tell me how to open the key to change the battery. My battery has died for the second time in a year and I would like to see if there is a problem before I shell out £80 for a new key

I had a similar problem to what you described. Try cleaning the throttle body with carb cleaner. I did (as instructed by the guys here) and it cleared all of the jerkiness. In fact it has never idled so smooth since I had the car

Can you describe the type of symptoms you are experiencing.

Thanks a lot guys. I can only imagine what a skoda dealership would charge for what I did in less than 30 minutes
