  1. You could try looking at the NewsMy NR5261 I've got one, and i'm quite pleased with it. It's an Android headunit, and it needs a bit of tweaking before running well (i have switched to XDauto ROM), which is working fine! There are still some minor issues, like red light in the physical buttons (can be turned off should you wish), no RDS and TA on the FM radio, and no navigation/phone readout on the MFD. Other than that, im happy, and sound quality etc. is just as good as the original Columbus HU i used to have...but everuthing is MUCH snappier, and being an android, you gotta love it for customizability Buy from here: http://exclusivecarauto.com/android-quadcore-newsmy-nr5261-carpad-skoda-p-1149.html And here are two very long threads about the headunit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units/4-4-2-kitkat-head-unit-newsmy-carpad-t2865525 http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units/xdauto-rom-newsmy-carpad-t3266694
  2. For the record, this is what i bought: https://www.atp-autoteile.de/product/0/610018/details.htm https://www.atp-autoteile.de/product/0/609751/details.htm Just entered the part numbers from above for front disc and rear disc in the "OE nummer" field on the website, and chose what i wanted. Will report back when fitting is done, so that others may benefit from this experience (or not).
  3. Well, i found these numbers at http://www.atp-autoteile.de)
  4. I am inclined to agree with you, but most of the manufacturers sells 282mm as compatible with PR number 1KJ, and this confuses me The missing 4mm will only mean 2mm less between the brake pads anyway, but again...i'm not 100% sure it doesn't matter, hence my request for help here! EuroCarParts aren't that happy with my danish reg. number There are several danish websites offering the same service, but they also list several options for discs and pads (anything between 256mm rear discs to 345mm front discs)
  5. Hi My Superb 1,8 TSi, 2008 Twindoor (hatchback - 3T4) needs new brakes. A friend of mine who works at a Skoda dealership looked stuff up on their computer, and told me it needs 312x25mm front discs and 286x12mm rear discs. That's fine, although the selection of 286x12mm discs is very limited! Will a 282mm disc work just as well with the stock calipers? I have found the PR number for the rear brakes: 1KJ Most of the discs i find that seems compatible with PR# 1KJ are 282mm, NOT 286mm. I can't find the PR number for the front brakes in my logbook....are there other ways to be certain, short of disassembling the car What brands should i be looking at? Currently i'm exploring ATE, mainly because i like the idea of less brake dust build up, if i buy their Ceramic brake pads. I don't really need better braking (i think...haven't had a REAL emergency braking yet!), but i also won't buy some aftermarket stuff that ends up warping, whining, crunching etc.! The calipers in the back are TRW i think (looking through the wheel spokes on the caliper).
  6. Well....mine sadly doesn't work like yours, although it should! I can't get both the OPS and RVC to display at the same time. The camera icon shows up, i select it, the camera view is displayed, and the little white arrow to the left is minimised. Selecting that just displays the empty white box (well, the camera view is there, but not the parking sensors) Today i visited the danish maker and dealer of VCDS, to buy a VCDS cable, and maybe get him to look at my problem. He wasn't able to solve it within a reasonable timeframe, so i left again. Will try to see if "6C Back Up Camera" is ticked in [19] Can Gateway, and if so, if it makes a difference to untick it. (it will probably stop the 02873 error codes i get from the navigation unit). Other than that, i can only come up with it being an old PDC controle module that isn't compatible, or an old RNS510 unit Rev. A (although with my-gti.com's 4120 firmware)
  7. Have you reset your Columbus unit? I am about to install this unit tomorrow, although not a pop-out type, maybe it's the same procedure for coding etc.: http://www.ebay.de/itm/271075583401?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I must code: Adress 37 Navigation or Adress 56 Radio RCD 510 Navigation/ Radio must be set for reversing camera (high in your case, low in mine) Byte 03 - Bit 6 auf 1 setzen – x1xxxxxx Then RESET by holding < + > + i/Stern This activates the reversing camera option. Then on to: Cars with PDC Funktion Adress 10 – Parking help (or something like that) - Byte 00 - HEX 10 >>> auf >>> HEX 30 Choose Vehicle self diagnose. Worth a shot at least :-)
  8. Who the he.. told you that AC would eat up that much HP? I would say 2, maybe 3%.....ABSOLUTELY MAX! (although i have no facts to back this up, and i can't be bothered to google it)
  9. Thanks Gaselle.....but i already ordered the plastic cover. (118 DKK incl. moms ) Amazing that they need the exact part number to place an order!
  10. Thank you very much Nathanio! Will phone the dealer tomorrow....see what he has to say for himself :wonder: (Tan leather is the same as ivory/beige i suppose, so it must be 104K1 he has to order)
  11. Really? I've seen multiple Superb's here in Denmark, but no one of them have had the cover! Could someone please find a part #? (It seems like you are having more luck with your dealers in UK than were having in DK...they wouldn't even look it up in the computer for me!)
  12. Hi Does anyone make a cover (black or beige) for the Bluetooth module located under the passenger seat? (Drivers seat for most of you here ) I'm annoyed when passengers look at the module and wiring and ask what it's for, and why it is located where it is visible :(
  13. Thank you kalnak! It was on page 52 in the Danish manual for future reference :-)
  14. Can this behaviour be changed without VCDS? I recently bought my 2008 Elegance 1,8 TSI DSG with Columbus unit fitted, and it annoys the cr.. out of me! It makes the navigation map go to night mode (i have it set to auto), and it won't change back to day mode even when driving less than 100 Kph for more than 2 minutes. What will make the lights/Columbus switch back to lights off and day mode on the nav/maps? Where in the manual is this explained? (page number?) I actually went through the manual to see if this was a "feature" of the Columbus or the car, but ended up finding nothing, so my searching/reading skills must be worse than i thought
