Is this with Auto leveling light or the ones with the cornering lights., Mine has a similar problem - the motor inside the head unit was jammed, had to open it and oil it up.

My Octavia MK2 has a similar drone noise increasing as the speed goes up, Checked the bearings and nothing unusual showed up turning the wheels or even physically inspecting the bearings. Still changed it and the sound was gone. In my case inspection of the bearing showed up clean but the noise was there just as you picked up speed and went over 30-40kmph. No i have the same thing on my front left wheel, and the cause is the additional wheel adaptors i have, they are 2" out with 114.3 PCD 17" rims. This time i know its the bearing and wont look anywhere else.

This happened to me with my elbow, and the best way i found was to remove the Cigg. Lighter plug and use the fingers to pop the switch back from the innerside. it was easy.
