  1. Friend has a 2006 1.9TDI on which intermittently the engine/gearbox shakes violently on cranking. Once it starts, it's fine. They have changed the DM flywheel, starter motor and had the injection system checked out with no problems found. Any ideas?
  2. Ordered my Vrs estate as a company car through Lex Autolease mid May. Had a phone call yesterday to say it is being delivered to me 2nd September.
  3. Just ordered a Vrs combi as a company car through Lex, waiting for confirmation of delivery date. A link on their website says 16 to 24 weeks lead time which fits in with your delivery forecast. We shall see.
  4. only problem with cornering fog lights, people come up to you and tell you that you have a light out.......
  5. As well as admiring glances I've noticed a rise in the number of clapped out Corsas with spotty teenagers with thier baseball caps on backwrds wanting to race me at traffic lights..........of course I oblige them, it would be rude not to.....
  6. The phone also operates though the Amundsen. I had both steering wheel and head unit controls on my Yeti....l never used the ones on the wheel.
  7. I've been to Lossie in my RAF days......its a wonder she didn't say a long, long, long time.......
  8. Had my bluetooth activated for £20 and just got the microphone (£30) which I will fit myself. Fully intergrated into the maxidot and Amundsen. Lovely!!
  9. If you have to make your final journey, there aren't too many cooler cars to do it in............ On another matter, does anyone else's sat nav lady have a speech impediment? Mine says "......after 200 yards take the turn to the"n" left...." Anyone else found this?
  10. I broached this with the dealer who said they could do it but would have to "reassess" my trade in value if we went into March.
  11. You don't have to be going fast to activate the ABS....I've done it on my drive. Mainly caused by slippery conditions.
  12. Well I picked my Candy White manual estate from DM Kieth Wakefield last night and having reread this thread, here are a few observations: Car looks even more stunning in the metal than the pictures with the white/black contrast looking great and the red brake calipers look awesome. Having seen the other colours though, I don't think anyone will be disappointed. I was a tad disappointed with the leather seats. I was hoping for a nice colourful VRS emblem on them but maybe the understated look is better. Very comfy though. The bluetooth definately doesn't work despite the salesman betting me that it did and that we try to pair my phone....I won!! Amundsen appears to play MP4 format songs unlike the radio in my Yeti and the manual insisting that it won't. I have a full size spare wheel and jack The car has cruise control which was a nice suprise I have a complementary bottle of oil plus a cargo net All the above are important and an intergral part of the buying experience but all pale into insignificance when you drive the car. You hear people bang on about bhp which is important when you are bragging to your mates in the pub or thrashing round a track but in the real world, it's torque that talks. Learn to drive the car to maximise the torque and surf on the 350nm tidal wave of the stuff. On real roads, in real traffic and in real conditions you can't beat driving a performance diesel for the money.....in my opinion of course.......
  13. Well I enjoyed the thread mate.....made me laugh out loud. You ought to meet my missus, she can't see the point in toys on a car.....until its freezing and she switches the heated seats on....or the lights that stay on until she gets her key in the house door when its dark.....or the display that comes up when she puts it in reverse and stops her running into things......
  14. Waaay too much money IMHO. DM Keith at Wakefield have a 12 plate, 8K miles, standard DSG in the green for £15950 and I reckon you'd get it for less than that. I test drove the car to see if I got on with the DSG (I didn't!!) and the salesman was bemoaning the fact that they had made a huge mistake in ordering the car as a demo in the green because it would only sell to somoeone who is colour blind - his words not mine!!! Personally, I don't mind the colour especially with the black wheels but as BA Baracus says above, you may get stung come trade in time due to the unpopular colour. Whatever you decide to do, you wont be disappointed with the car!!!
