  1. Just to update. I did the disconnect 30 idle 30 procedure yesterday and it has definitely made a difference. The previous owner was a woman driver and I can only think she never drove the car to it's full potential because it picks up and pulls better than before and doesn't feel as sluggish. Gonna get some Wynns EGR cleaner next, and clean that through. The car is having a service next month so will be having everything checked over then.
  2. Thanks jamwatn, will give this a go on my day off this week and will let you know how I get on
  3. Might try this on mine as my old mans fabia vrs feels a lot quicker than mine and they are both standard. I'm guessing I wont get any dash lights come on or have to put anything like a code back into the radio because I'm disconnecting the battery for 30 mins will I? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'd rather ask than have problems later lol
  4. I would definitely say the heat shield is the problem. Had this exact same issue about two weeks ago. Got underneath the car to find heat shield is only being held on by two of the four original clips or whatever you want to call them with the other two completely missing.
  5. Are there Red ones in there as I can't tell the difference between red or orange lol
  6. Any ideas as to where in Bristol they are as I can only see Banbury on their website?
  7. Completely forgot to mention that I've got a cruise control stalk with all the wiring given to me which my dad gave to me that I haven't had fitted yet.
  8. Oh and I meant to say, it can be exterior or Interior as well
  9. It's my birthday next week and I'm gonna have £200-£300 to spend and was thinking of getting a few bits and bobs for the FabRed VRS. Haven't had the car long so can anyone recommend the best upgrades to go for with this kind of money??? It can be mechanical or cosmetic, I just want some ideas.
  10. Can you send me some pics and let me know what colour you have please bud.
  11. Thanks lads, I shall reassure my old man further when I speak to him. He hasn't had the car that long, swapped it for petrol version as he has began doing more mileage so changing to a diesel made sense. I've only just recently become an owner of a Skoda Fabia VRS and I've enjoyed my ownership of the car so far :-)
  12. Ok, I will advise my old man who didn't realise this fascia trim existed via Skoda, Many Thanks
  13. and this trim will fit even if you have a gap above any new headunit you fit? Even a double din?
  14. According to Halfords Website you will need the Fascia Adaptor FP-20-00 Skoda Fabia as well as Harness Adaptor PC2-69-4 and Antenna Adaptors PC5-52 Signal Separation Filter ISO - ISO Hope that helps.
  15. What Unit are you putting in?
  16. Hi everyone, My Dad currently has a Skoda Octavia VRS Diesel and has recently had a weird problem start. He tells me that when for example he is going downhill doing around 50-60mph and touches the brake pedal that the car will go from 6th gear and jump back into 3rd gear for some reason and if he touches the accelerator pedal after it will jump back to 6th gear. Has anybody had this issue and if so what is the fix? He plans on taking to the garage but an experienced mechanic who is friend seems to think it might be a sensor or switch issue? Maybe brake switch or gearbox sensor? It's a bit mystifying and have searched the net already but can't seem to find anything. Any help would be much appreciated.
  17. My old man has just fitted a Double DIN Alpine in his Fab Vrs and Halfords has the fascia to fit for £15.99. You have to order in-store though as it's not on the website.
  18. Where did you get those chrome heater switches from Kenny130pd?
  19. How much different are these to the original speakers?
  20. Anyone got any ideas on what the best thing to do to stop the window from squeaking? It squeaks going up and down, I've seen suggestions of lubricant on the net, also talcum powder. Any ideas welcome, it's starting to do my head in now. Don't really want to have to take the door panel off etc. I think it's the rubber seal that's the problem but not sure.
