Car is randomly locking itself - struggling to diagnose
Yes, it is always locking, never unlocking thankfully. I haven't looked at any wiring yet, although I have been debating disconnecting the control panel on the driver's door arm rest, to see if that makes any difference, in case that button with the Key symbol is being randomly triggered somehow.

I should also note that VCDS did not report any fault codes for the 46 Central Conv module either.

Car is randomly locking itself - struggling to diagnose
As far as I am aware it has no alarm. It has never made any beeps when locking or unlocking during the entire time i've had the car. The car has never refused to lock or unlock, it just locks itself at random without being commanded to do so.

Car is randomly locking itself - struggling to diagnose
So I have a very strange issue that I am struggling to diagnose. The car is randomly locking itself. I have been out to it with the VCDS cable and as far as I can tell it is correctly reporting the status of all four doors and the tailgate. On the adaptations screen, both auto-lock and auto-unlock are turned off, although I'm not exactly sure what these settings are refering to. The issue doesn't seem to be consistent either. On one occasion it locked exactly 20 seconds after being unlocked, suggesting it didn't know the door had been opened. On another occasion it took over a minute before it decided to lock itself. And on another it locked itself again only a couple of seconds after I had just unlocked it again. This occurs regardless of whether or not the key is inserted into the ignition. I think I can rule out it being triggered by the keyfob, as the indicator lights do not flash when it locks, unlike when you actually press the button on the keyfob to lock it yourself. I'm also not sure if it related, but it seemed to start doing this around the same time the battery completely died (was approx 9 volts) and has continued to occur even after it was replaced with a brand new one. Everything else on the car appears to be functioning correctly. Is there anything else I can check or try before I give up and take it to the boys at the garage to look at?

Considerations for removing the battery?
I've ordered a new battery. Should be arriving Friday.

Also, can you even get a car battery delivered? Would have thought they'd be considered hazardous or prohibited items.

Considerations for removing the battery?
Yeah I probably will. I think the recent freezing weather and very little use during the past 11 months has probably given it a good punishing. Any starting of the car recently has had to be done with the help of a jump pack. I'm just a bit hesitant to pay out for a new one right now if it is still going to be a few more months of working from home until everything is back to normal.

Considerations for removing the battery?
According to my records... 28 Dec 2016 And yes, I know it can be done in the car, however that is not currently practical due to its location.

Considerations for removing the battery?
I need to remove the battery from my Fabia Mk1 to properly charge it indoors as it currently shows only 9.8 volts. What considerations should I make for doing this? I already know that... 1) I will lose the clock on the dashboard. 2) I may lose the settings on my aftermarket Sony headunit.
