  1. Sorry for writing in an old thread. But Ive had the same issue with the bootlock. Ripped the boot apart today and found out that the handle, the thing you push in to open the lock was moisty. The rubberseal gets harder after a few years allowing water to enter and that was the problem in my cars case. I simply took a towel and papper and when it was dry I put some lubricant, in form of Silicon Gel (resistant to water and salt) on it. Now it works just fine again Could be a good thing to be carefull when the car gets older so you dont use a high pressure wash to close at the bootlock.
  2. This is confusing, I called my local Skoda dealer and asked them about it, he said that if I changed that the problem might go away. Could low battery voltage cause the problem? Or is it certain that the central electronics control module is the problem and what can I do about it?
  3. Hi Mike, Thank you for your reply, where can I find the "workshop manual"? I think I made my self missunderstood. The Indicator-relay(I think thats the correct word for it) isnt it located in the middle of the dashboard, where the emergency indicator button is, above the radio? Might that one be faulty? I was at my garage 20 min ago to check the "indicator stalk" but its no problems with that one, but when I indicate right it quickly indicates left before it indicates right again. About the electric horns then, I guess this is something I need? 4. Hi everyone, There is a problem with our Octavia, its a Combi from 2006 (1 owner only, and thats me).. actually there is two problems but I start with the biggest problem first. When I turn the turnsignalmechanism to the left, it works fine and the lights go on and blink to the left. But, when I do it to the right, the blink goes one time to the left and then fast to the right, and blink is normal. Can it be the turnsignalrelay that has an error in it? The other problem is the airhornsignal. The lowtonesignal is working good, but the hightonesignal is dead. The question is where the horns is located cause Ive looked for them under the engine and around the lamps but I cant find them. // Bo
  5. UPDATE!!! At last, the workshop called me today. New generator and rem. New AC-compressor, condenser, gas and all the other stuff related to the AC-system. So tomorrow I have my car, it took ONLY 3 weeks to get it fixed, woah! So now you know, IF the AC stops blowing cool air, dont try it again, go to the nearest workshop and let em figure it out BEFORE it crashes. Or you will have 13000SEK less in your wallet. (about 1000$)
  6. I have tried for two Days to reach my local Skoda dealer Downtown but hasnt got the chance to talk to anyone there yeat. Day number 4 I really hope they can fix this.
  7. Understood. What I meant was that the "alternator belt" Went to heaven. And if that Went to heaven I Think it did it for a reason, may it be the AC compressor that Went because it didnt worked?
  8. Hi Jorobah, Guess what, two Days ago at midsummerseve we where on the way on the highway. It was about 30+celcius outside so I though now was a good time to push the AC button to see if it works. Pushed the button for the AC to come on, BANG, a loud noice followed by a plume of smoke behind the car where we where cruse in 140km/h... the light that indicates that the battery has no charge lighted up so... pulled over and stoped the car. The wire to the generator was toasted and I guess that the AC is RIP. Going to Contact my local dealer tomorrow so they can send someone to pic up the car and investigate how bad it is. But after Ive read some other threads about bad compressors for the AC I cant Think about anyting else then that the entire system is dead. Nice day huh? Hole family in the car and that happens....
  9. Hi, We have a Octavia II from 2006. This summer the AC is behaving strangley, it takes about 15.20 minutes before it starts blowing cool air. If the AC is off, the RPM of the engine is around 700. When AC on it rises to about 900 RPM. Always has. The two fans in front of the engine I suppose one of them has to do with the AC? When the engine is cold they dosnt spin. Dont know it thats normal but I suppose it is since the engine is cold. Is it possibly to little gas in the AC system so it take some time for the compressor to build up pressure? Does a refill solve the problem? I talked to our local Skoda dealer and the tecnichian said it was a strange symptom. When the AC finaly blows cold air its cold, really cold. Suggestions?
  10. I was in the garage lastnight and I put pipe A on bayonet B, dont know if its supposed to be that way but the dripping stopped and no more wiered sound comes from the engine. Still wanna know whats it all about.

  12. Hi, Today when I started the car I heard a whistling noise form the engine. After some looking there I found a plastic thing where it was dripping oil from, so I wonder what is the function of it? Beside it where some plastiic rubber that was loose so I putted it back and the noise was gone and no more leaking oil. Also, the AC on the climatic is not working correct I guess, after 15-20 min it gives cold air. Solution to this?
