'6R4 nicky' is a member in here that I've conversed with, who can tell bore you ALL about 6R4's. Hope he pops in sometime to add his valuable thoughts and opinions. I think that is probably a better way of putting it! lol It would be great to have you guys come along to the event, as I am co-ordinating the 6R4s 30th anniversary celebrations. Be nice to meet some fellow members off here, and chat about 6R4s and also how much better rallying back in the 70's and 80's was compared to the current wrc etc

Best place for remap in Hampshire
6r4nicky replied to Kevvrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Vrs Mark is bang on about r-tech, I had a stage 1 custom map on my mk1 vrs on Friday and it made 225bhp and 288lb/ft torque! Chuffed to bits as I only have a turbo back system and panel filter. Can't fault their knowledge and attention to detail on my car before, during and after the mapping. -
£75 for the carbonio CAI with the RamAir filter?
-
Still got the Carbonio for sale if anyone is interested :-)
-
SFS tip sold.
-
Forgot to say, open to offers :-)

I have unfortunately had to change plans for going stage 2 with my octavia, so have the following for sale. Brand new SFS over size TIP in black. Never fitted to the car. SOLD Also got a Carbonio CAI, with RamAir filter. I bought this 2nd hand from a fellow member on here, but I also purchased a black SFS hose joiner, the relevant clamps and the smaller filter with 25mm neck on it. £85 posted Cheers

mk1 vrs clutch replacement?
6r4nicky replied to sapphyre666's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Hi Sapphyre, personally I would go for this following kit for your car, but I am as new in the skoda and especially turbo car scene as you. http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-g60-flywheel-and-sachs-vr6-clutch-kit.html Is the single mass flywheel conversion you have on your vrs a Valeo kit? -
Everyone add pictures of your cars ;)
6r4nicky replied to vrs_haroon's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
I have had my vrs for just over 6 months and this is the only pic I have taken :( It hasn't changed much since this pic, but I do want to get some coilovers or springs to make it sit lower. I made sure I got all the mechanical stuff done first like Cambelt, waterpump, new battery, new starter motor, cat back system, oil change, the usual servicing bits lol I had the solid flywheel kit done recently and by the end of Jan will have my downpipe, cai, sfs big bore hose and another oil change (with the oil feed pipe this time lol) before I go and get the car mapped. Got a few more plans after that like getting the alloys refurbed, and lowering the car but not much -
octavia vrs decat and down pipe
6r4nicky replied to vrs_haroon's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Very good point on the cat front, I am having mine made so I can easily swap the cat and decat over for MOT time which is good. As for the engine light issue after having the decat fitted, most people get a lambda sensor spacer fitted. -
octavia vrs decat and down pipe
6r4nicky replied to vrs_haroon's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
If you live in Birmingham, just get it booked in with a friend of my mates who runs a custom exhaust garage by the B.C.F.C ground, called rjperformance exhausts. I have got my vrs booked in Jan for a custom down pipe and decat. He charges £150 to do a down pipe and decat. I already have a cat back system on my car that was done by Jay, and I was chuffed with the results, even the local garage i use to work on my car have said what a brilliant job Jay done on it. As for power gains, I dont know tbh. I am having this done along with a few other bits (sfs tip - the big bore one, carbonio cai with ram air filter) before I have the car mapped by either rtech or shark -
Arrived safe and sound mate, cant wait to get it fitted Many thanks
-
Not yet mate no, it's no problem though lol Ooh brilliant! Look forward to seeing then, anything group b but especially 6R4's are always great to see
-
Have a great weekend at the rally guys, very jealous of you all!
-
EML on due to decat any quick fixes
6r4nicky replied to chrisw4266's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Don't suppose you could post a link for the spacer please Chris? Need to get one soon for when I decat mine -
Oh yes the event was a belter, but to be honest rallying in general back then was brilliant compared to now..
-
Ooh, now if ever you manage to have time to find that I would love to have a copy if possible? My mate owns a couple of Tony Ponds 6R4's from 85 and 86 the lucky bugger :-)

I think Steve Perez has got a new engine fitted in the stratos for the rally so should be good to see how it goes with it. That's the real way to do the RAC! I done it a few times when my uncle took me rallying, the first RAC (well network q to be precise) where we slept in the car was 97 when burns and McRae where battling for the win. Shame neither are here now :( I don't suppose you took any pics of the metros on the 85 or 86 RAC when you was spectating?
-
Excellent! My mates 6R4 is on display so would be rude not to pop over and see it again this year Your only more minted because I have spent loads on my vrs this month lol
-
Have a great time at the rally. I was hoping to go myself, mainly to see Steve Perez in the genuine lancia stratos howling through the forests, but I am going to the classic motor show at the NEC the week after. Will definately be going next year though

The 4th pic on this ebay auction shows the difference in size between the SFS hose, and the standard skoda version. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271279846843?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

That's fair enough mate. Thanks for mentioning car parts 4 less, that will save me money when I go to buy the valeo kit next week for my vrs
-
Personally, just go for the solid flywheel kit for the vrs that euro car parts sell. I have read a few people on here using them without any issues and a few were running stage 2. This is a valeo kit too, whereas the other kit (made by techniclutch) is very dodgy from what I have read on various car owners clubs online. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Octavia_1.8_2002/p/car-parts/car-transmission/clutch-and-associated-parts/solid-flywheel-conversion-kit/?633780010&1&df9020a9bc4935a972dd7dc096659fb48f0023d0&000299

What about this solid flywheel kit from euro car parts? It's on offer till the end of the month aswell. I'm looking at getting it for my mk1 VRS before I get booked in with rtec for mapping. http://www.eurocarparts.com/mobile/ecp/c/Skoda_Octavia_1.8_2002/p/car-parts/car-transmission/clutch-and-associated-parts/solid-flywheel-conversion-kit/?633780010&1&df9020a9bc4935a972dd7dc096659fb48f0023d0&000299
