Experience of parrot Mki9100/9200 / Motorola tk30
charltones replied to charltones's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
lol should be fine then -
Hi all, Can anyone with either of these two bluetooth / music connection units comment on the sound quality when playing from iPod / USB and whether they are loud enough? From what I can see they drive the car's speakers directly by connecting via a SOT cable at the back of the head unit. I'm assuming the sound quality won't be as good as using an AUX in and going via the head unit's own amplifier, but maybe the difference isn't so great? I'd be connecting them to a Bolero head unit in a 10 plate FL Octavia. Cheers Rob

Bolero MP3 encoding guide?
charltones replied to charltones's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Ah ok. Well I know the mp3's are fine as they play on iPod, android phone, PC, playstation etc. I've found another clue though - the read only tab on the micro sdhc adapter was flicked up making the card read only. I wonder if the Bolero was trying to write playing information back to the MP3 files and failing. I'll try later to see if that was the cause. Thanks. -
Does anyone have any tips or know of any guides as to the best encoding parameters for MP3 to use with the Bolero? I put a selection of my MP3s onto an SD card to play and found that most of them ended prematurely - i.e. a 4 minute track would skip onto the next one after 1 or 2 minutes. I think there was a mix of fixed and variable bit rates. I can probably work it out by a process of elimination with a selection of different tracks but wondered in case anyone had encountered this.

Flashing red light on drivers door
charltones replied to lbonniebell's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks all. Battery has been fine last two days. Got a USB CANBUS / OBD cable on order so I'll see what codes come up. I bought it from a tiny dealer that was quite a trek away, probably not worth the hassle of taking it back. I _did_ manage to get the siren to go off after I reconnected the battery post charging it, but the LED still doesn't come on. -
Bought a 2010 Octavia Greenline hatch on Saturday. Hello all - forum has already been very helpful. Cheers

Flashing red light on drivers door
charltones replied to lbonniebell's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hmm, flat battery this morning despite driving for about 90 minutes yesterday - I suspect a problem with the alarm. Not a good start to Octavia ownwership :( -
Flashing red light on drivers door

Could be - I'll have to check for any codes. I did try locking the car with the windows down and waving my hand inside. The indicators started flashing but there was no alarm sound - maybe that's a clue. -

Big thanks Chris - I just got a 10 plate Octavia yesterday which had this conversion done, but whoever did it had forgotten to connect up the 12V socket. Thanks to your guide I was able to disassemble everything and plug the socket in. Saved. Now I know how to do it I might wire up the aux socket and put in the air ducts. -

Long time ago now lbonniebell but did you find out what was wrong with your alarm light? I've just picked up an Octavia today and it appears to be doing the same thing - doors lock, alarm chirps but red light doesn't flash at all.
