  1. Yeah that'llceile out without too much hassle. Open the bonnet and have a look to see if there is a strenghthening bar underneath where the dent is. If there is using a long cheap flexible long bread knife cut the bonding glue between the brace and the panel and watch what happens! You'll be very pleased and a lot better off
  2. Well I've purchased the pioneer now. Hope to fit either Sunday or Monday. Will post some pics and give my thoughts if anyone's interested.
  3. Hi, thanks for your reply. I already have a kenwood double din fitted with can lead and facia panel I just cannot stand the 3 different plastic tones with this setup hence why I like the pioneer unit which does away with all of this. My only concern is pioneer themselves state this is for '09 octavias onwards. I have however seen pics of older cars with them fitted. I just wanted to question if there is a canbus issue at all as with the MFD3. Kev
  4. Hi All. Has anyone fitted a Pioneer AVIC-F9110BT to a fitting pre '09 Octavia? I'm looking at buying one but i cannot find any clear statement to say if the unit will work with my '57 Vrs. I'm not sure if it's down to a speed pulse thing for the sat nav with my car not having the latest Can system. I don't want to buy this unit only to find it won't work! Any help/guidance will be greatly received Many Thanks
  5. They'll be stuck on with a foam based double sided tape, usually 3m. A good motor factors should be able to help you out there. Smart paint repair is ok if you're selling the vehicle but that's where if end IMO. Anything you can paint off of the car you really are best doing so.
  6. With a little touch of heat and a plastic spreader these will be off in no time. Just gently warm the strip and then slide the spreader along the fixing tape and they'll come off without too much hassle. The hardest part will be removing the old tape what's left on the door, if any. There is a thing called a toffee wheel that will make light work of this if you can find one. If you're not too far from me (Watford) I can lend you mine. Spend the time and do it right and you'll be a lot happier than going down the Smart route.
  7. Where abouts are you? This has quite a bit to with prices. Also some will local the face, some will only paint the face and others (mainly powder coaters) will paint the whole rim.
  8. Post them down and i'll pop them in for you if you like. There are plenty of places that will fit the screens in the headrests if thats the bit that concerns you.
  9. They are ok but they they tend to squeak and rattle around a bit and they are quite loose fitting. Also the look is never quite there. When i do the rest of my install i'm going to trim it all in the same vinyl, sorry leather , and run all the double stitching through it too to have all in 'keeping'.
  10. Yeah and tbh the Veba's are the better option but I got the two Necvox's for well under a ton. The Veba's are a lot easier to fit too!
  11. Cheers, at the mo they are both hooked up to my HU. It features dual zone capabilities so all is good there. I'm doing the sums at the moment to see if I can fit a slim PS 2 into the rear arm rest as my eldest is 14 he doesn't always want to watch fireman Sam!! I only want to use it for the DVD player and I like the fact it can be used at any angle. Watch this space as I've got the bug now
  12. Have a quick look at these, i fitted some to a friends car recently and tied them into his aftermarket HU and they were fantastic, displaying image and distance on the HU. They say they can be intergrated into OEM equipment and are a lot cheaper than other options i've seen. http://www.steel-mate.co.uk/acatalog/Camera_Kit.html
  13. Good option at that price! I would've done the same but my singing is utterly rubbish That price does sound a little steep though. Most of the screens with dvd players in are pre mounted in headrests (circa £300 for a pair), then its just a case of swapping them over and running a few power/earth cables and Bob's your uncle.
  14. It was just the way I took the photo, I had to tilt the headrest forward to stop the glare of the flash. Needing to source a few extra bits and bobs now to finish my project. The little ones are very happy though and oh so quiet!!
