  1. sorry JimboVRS, no plans on getting it on a dyno. Butt dyno says definetely an improvement over stock and remarkable improvement over stock over 4.5K rpm. i have been using the labeled as "highest quality fuel" around here since i bought it (it,s just +0,10/liter on a gas station i trust). it's called 100 octane over here, but i don't know how the ratings are in UK so as to compare.
  2. on the highway an Alfa Romeo Brera (probably the 2.2 petrol) just couldn't loose me. i was stuck on it's tail the whole time the Brera is a heavy Car with 180 hp
  3. Demand a courtesy car and leave yours at the dealer. Tell them to call u only when they have worked everything out
  4. Installed the tune today Will have to drive it around a few times to take the feel of it. First impressions are very good! If u study the dynos they post on their website, then this is the feeling. The car feels faster at wot from 2k rpm till 4k rpm. Pass that point is where it really makes a difference. It keeps pulling strong till the rev limiter, while with the stock tune after 4.5k rpms you are just burning gas and consuming air. Overall, pretty happy with it for the first few km
  5. in the next days i will let you know if it also IS impressive
  6. my pm's not working either :( just tried to pm you and it wouldnt send my message...
  7. as the title says http://blog.revotechnik.com/revo-release-1-2-tsi-stage-1-software/
  8. sorry, no p/n. since i didn't find a ready to use kit, i just visited a tuning shop, bought a Simota cone filter (if you let them know it's for a 1.2 tsi, they will give you the right one - it's a biggie) and they used a small piece of aluminium adapter for it to fit. it's a costom job, easily done. will try to post a pic later this week.
  9. update 1. they didn't mention anything about my aftermarket intake 2. doors lock after 20km/h 3. set steering assist to sport. it definetely feels heavier than before. if you like comfortability, leave it as it is. if you want a bit of sportier tone, do the mod. nothing really sport, but feels kinda sportier which is nice for me
  10. 4th from the last of course. Cold Air Intake. i have replaced the stock filter BOX with an aftermarket intake. they just called, Car is ready and i will be picking it up in 3-4 hours. let's see what happens...
  11. one year since i bought it and below 9K klm. just left it at the dealer for the first annual service. 1. curious to see if they will tell something about the aftermarket CAI 2. told them to program it through VCDS to lock the doors at 20 klm/h. they said that was an easy one. 3. told them to change the steering assist from normal to sport. gave them written "how to" based on the Info i found on this forum. they said they hadn t done it before, but the tech was excited about trying it, probably to gain knowledge. let's see how this turns out. hope they don't "kaboom" the whole car
  12. you know the letters (Rapid 1.2 tsi i.e.) can easily be placed again. double side tape is what they come with, so it's quite easy to put them back on. so.... ??? fuerthermore, you have to accept that every single person has his own personal taste. it does not have to be a kind of inferiority complex...u read too much B class psychology books i think i think i was the First to debadge my Rapid (the letters Rapid 1.2 tsi i.e.) and the reason is (drums) : i like how it looks. clean and smooth. i got a 07 Opel GT, also debadged (front grill) - believe me no need to be ashamed of a car like that so pls just accept that some people like some things that others don't. end of story. (don't mean to offense anyone by this post)
  13. I ve replaced my air filter with a cai. Removed the air box, used an aluminium adapter and a simota filter. Sounds a lot sportier, but butt dyno says no difference. A tune is what will give u more power. Cai will add some nice sound.
  14. got various pics in this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/278657-12-tsi-105-hp-elegance-from-greece/ ps sorry for the topic hijack
  15. OK, got it ! i had the letters removed when i had the roof wrapped up in black vinyl. pretty straightforward for the body shop guy. IMHO it adds a much cleaner look
  16. i like the debadging idea. the only thing is that you will have to have some body work done, after u remove the Skoda badges, to even out the surfaces
  17. IMHO, it would only be a good mod, if a dual tip exhaust (like the Octavia RS exhaust) would come with an aftermarket diffuser with holes for the tips to pass through them. any other solution would not fit nicely (IMHO of course). example http://darsltd.com/2014-skoda-octavia-rs/2014-skoda-octavia-rs-rear-side
  18. in GREECE, the digital climate is Standard on Elegance. from photos of UK members i ve seen, i don't think it's Standard.
  19. i replaced mine with led lamps in the First few days of ownership and no error on the display
  20. picking up a smel is kinda subjective. when u smell this again, pop the hood and take a look. if you dont see anything weird, take it to the dealer for a look. all cars, turbo and n/a, kinda smell hot after use. but whether each smell is normal or not, is hard to tell from distance. check you oil and coolant temp from the display
  21. Interested in getting my tsi tuned. Don t have to inform insurance around here. I ll probably get a tine after the summer. Any suggestions?
  22. always nice to see forum members help each other! Well done guyz!
  23. arggghhh they had to add this feature too in the later models, just to get on my nerves... i m going to paint my Rapid Racing blue and drop it into the sea...
  24. this makes sense. thx Saffron Skoda. weird that the Rapid has this "sofisticated" feature when other, more market-oriented, features are missing
