  1. LOL in that case I'll let you sell my four, 3 Good years and one no name tyre.... that's what happens when you hit a pothole in one and left marooned at the side of the road.
  2. Good read so far and ignore part of my private message lol. One word though I'd get the tyres changed on the UP GTI alloys, if you're using them, to 205/40/17. The other size tyres are rare and hard to come by, although I may have some if you want, and break easily in potholes. The other ones are much more hardy and are recommended via the UP GTI owners group. (I've used them and wouldn't use anything else on them).
  3. If you bought a proper wiring kit then it should work, however don't forget that the plug on the Audi seats maybe be different from the Fabia. So check the kit you've bought. The seats will fit but I can't remember whether the bases were swapped over or not, had a set in one of my Fabia's.
  4. Soooo tempted, PM the plate that's going back on it when you get a chance mate.
  5. Not many updates since before, put some TD 1.2 alloys in black on it with some PS4 tyres which have sharpened the grip level considerably IMO. Still have a slight blow in the exhaust join as it didn't join properly so I'll most likely have to go to a custom exhaust company in order to resolve that issue. (A friend is going to try and fix my old exhaust but as that was a cat back and this is turbo back made sense to upgrade). Next work is to fit the coilovers I have hanging around in order to make it handle that bit better and I may try to fit a FMIC with BAM pipework soon. A new fuel pump may be ordered in order to plug that potential problem later on and then I can go for stage 2 map... which should be fun.
  6. Nicely done Trev all coming together very well indeed!
  7. It's been a while so thought I'd do a mini update, firstly passed the 180k mark!! Still being used daily and when driven carefully I can get high 30s low 40s mpg on my commute so not too shabby. Did manage a low 50s when going a long drive up north but that vanished as soon as I came out of the 50mph zone and went down to a still respectable 48mpg. N/S/F wheel bearing replaced fooked and both front engine mounts as precautionary as I thought I might have had the O/S/F driveshaft going and wanted to ensure that it wasn't the mounts causing it. New N/S/R caliper to fit, new braided lines and new fluid to fit as one of the jobs to do. Also my exhaust decided to separate from the backbox so another second hand exhaust was sourced and now due to be fitted. I'll probably give that a good clean up before fitting as well. Next on my list of mods is fitting some coilovers and adjustable drop links as I've not been overly impressed with the B4 and HR springs, probably a damper thing as the HR are rated but decided to go a different route now. Finally finished dying the front seats and drivers door card so I've now a completely red interior that looks great IMO. I'll grab some photos up of it at the weekend to show it.
  8. Another small job done today, N/S rear passenger door control module replaced! So I now have a car that locks and unlocks all four doors at once!!! Also new fuel filter put on and a S2000 air filter, so induction noise is a little better with a little more evident engine noise included. Air box still kept and see if I can live with the additional noise on a daily basis, if not it'll go back on. I still have to route an additional cold air from the bumper that'll be tricky, but worth it for the increased air flow. At worse I may butcher an air box just to shield the filter from the heat a little bit better than nothing at all.
  9. He's based not far from Portsmouth, so was a little bit of a travel for me but well worth it IMO. If you look up his name on forums, in post above, you'll see he has practically written the book on these cars.
  10. More updates. Passenger door luck finally gave up the ghost and had to be forced open, luckily had the part and this is now working perfectly thanks to my local tame mechanic. Now passed 175k so clocking up now I need to sort near side rear door lock mechanism as that doesn't open anymore off the fob. Once that's done I'll have a car that opens all the doors at once! Rear N/S brake calliper needs replacing I think too and as I do so I may paint the rears red, as they'd have both been replaced. Hopefully look a little better than the current silver the new callipers come in.
  11. Another smaller update new thermostat, housing and CTS fitted as former was jammed open and needed replacing. Next on list sort passenger front door lock mechanism that seems to open when it feels like and wants to... and then just under a blue moon.
  12. Not much to update on this thread, another year another MOT. FItted two new front tyres, PS3s but they should be better than the winter tyres that were on it before.
  13. LMAO Tom, look forward to you bringing the thread up to date.
  14. The two main turbo options for that power would be PD150 hybrid obviously and the GTB1756. The latter can go past your required power range, depends on how much money you want to spend.
  15. There now a plethora of suppliers out there, Skillaturbo's and Xman are just two of the suppliers that I've heard of. Do your research and look into reviews of any and all suppliers before forking over the £. Darkside are REALLY expensive and will only work on cars with all their parts fitted. Pluses and minuses of most suppliers out there ,I wouldn't go to TRP personally but that's just my opinion. Some people swear by certain company's as they have a vested interests i.e. part sponsored or in other ways tied to them. Do the research and have a good talk with a few and see who you get the best gut reaction to. And finally make sure you can go see them if needed in order to get any issues resolved face to face, which is good in most situations like that. And equally puzzled by the battery power issue, mine was moved to the boot and I upgraded to a better amp draw because of the distance involved but never had issues with the standard battery whatsoever in normal location.
  16. Torque kills clutches yes, however a standard clutch "can" go on a standard turbo let alone a hybrid turbo, circa 180bhp +. As a hybrid will go over the 200bhp mark then at some point the clutch will give up the ghost and part of the fun on those cars is the torque. So bank on upgrading the clutch and you should upgrade the front brakes if not done already. Look over the forums here and see other peoples remarks on this and of course the turbos. A PD150 hybrid can flow circa 230bhp give or take but everyone has been going for the GTB1756 as this is supposed to be a better turbo and doesn't require modifications like those that get bigger. (GTB2260 etc)
  17. Great project Trev!! Glad to see you back in a Fabia and with a great engine now to boot!
  18. Quick search and I found this link, hope it helps:
  19. Had the brake pad warning light come on, quick check around and noticed o/s/r pad very low and n/s/r not so low. So dreaded, and common, sticky calliper diagnosed. So with new pads in hand took everything off and attempted to free it up with no success unfortunately. So a new calliper was quickly sourced locally for reasonable money although it's silver, for now, it sorted the issue and both it and new rear pads fitted up. I think I'm going to attempt, or get friendly valeter, to wet vac the front seats and driver door card before finishing off the colour dye on them. Then at some point in the new year I'll probably look to get rid of it as it's not the most friendly mpg wise on the commute run into London every day. I may even get a Citigo as that'll be a little bit better on the go juice and tax.
  20. Another small update, brakes bled and new drop links fitted. I went for the R32 items which are slightly thicker in the end to upgrade OE+. Central locking reconnected at front P/S door and door card fitted all working ok.
  21. Yes I think all of us owners wondered about that, especially as the black carpet looks so good in them afterwards. Let alone white centres of seats and door cards were bound to get dirty as anyone will know who has ever owned anything whatsoever that was white. That's understandable a mint car and interior are quite rare nowadays. As I was going the red and black theme, I pondered the Leon black leather seats for quite a while, but as this is a cheap runaround I decided to do something in keeping with that theme.
  22. Ahh no worries, and nope I'd not long taken off the masking tape and wiped down the overspill marks. So was probably just a little damp.
  23. Nope I fabric dyed them Charlie, good stuff and after I'm finished the front seats I'll most likely have some leftover as spare.
  24. Had a couple of issues with the dreaded locking problems of the mk4 chassis so I decided to replace the drivers door module, touch wood everything seems to be much better now! Now onto something I've been doing from time to time, still not complete... but getting there... Looking good I think and with the red switches, suits the car very well indeed!
