How can I fix my screeching starter motor?
Vrs418 replied to Haych123's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Mine does this but only from a cold start. Quiet as a mouse when it does a warm/hot start -
Just seen one on ebay. Item number 251374463396. Hope it helps

Mine looked like that, found the hangers on the centre section had previously snapped and been removed

Sorted it now, it was the water outlet on the side of the head that was leaking onto the vacuum pipes, which made it look like it was a pipe leaking. Thanks for your help.

There is a coolant hose coming of the side of my cylinder head (auq vrs) from what I can only describe as a brass tyre fitting that has rubbed on some wiring and is now leaking. Does anyone know if this pipe is included in the forge coolant hose kit, as when something fails on my car I like to replace with better parts.

With it being a custom exhaust I just had a mid sport sound due to the motorway mileage that I do it's just a bit louder than standard but I'm over the moon with it. I can't recommend mij performance in Walsall enough, great job. :-)

I thought I'd made my mind up but now I've seen hardcorehobbit's post I'm thinking again! Need to hurry up and decide as its booked in, in 56 minutes!

Thanks to all for the replies its really appreciated. I think I'd like a slashed oval! We''ll find out tomorrow what i decide when I post some pics!

I'm having my cat back exhaust done Saturday morning and still cat decide on the tip. Was thinking 6x4 oval with a slash cut to follow the line of the bumper but I'm struggling to find some pics, found loads for twin round which is my second option third option was to have the standard tip welded back on but a bit closer to the bumper cut out. Could you please post some pics of your exhaust or if you could direct me to a picture that would be a great help as this is a big decision!!!!

Looks like too much heat to me. I'd take a copy of the mot info and say what are you (the garage) going to do about it.

I'd take it back as this is now an mot failure which they have caused on your vehicle please see the link. http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4s02000204.htm
