Possibly buying a Fabia Monte Carlo
Mick Clayton replied to fabatron's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Very happy with mine. Done 5000 miles and now it feels much better. Getting an average of 45mpg here on the island but bimbling around have had up to high 50's. Motorway avererages 40 ish. I have changed the headlamp bulbs to something a lot brighter, had black plastic side protectors fitted and new mats from a supplier on this site. Also painted rear drums black. Runs like a dream and handles perfectly. No oil used yet. I would recommend this 105 motor to anybody I suppose im a 64 year old boy racer now.. -
Talking to my local dealer yesterday about changing the headlamp bulbs in the Monte for something brighter. It would appear dealers wont do this as it invalidates the warranty because they would not be an approved item. Food for thought.

And just as I was thinking I was the only member on the Island..

All I want to say is since I got my Monte Tech 105 every time I drive it always makes me smile.. Brilliant little motor. Skoda no 10 and the best yet.

I fitted an original Skoda one myself , providing you clean the paintwork properly first there will be nom problems in fitting.. Certainly saves a lot of damage. -

Started with an Estelle and have had every small model in between including the awesome cube van. Took the monte into Dorset yesterday, what a joy to drive. Brilliant handling and acceleration and comfortable as well.. -
Picked up new105 Monte last night - am well pleased so far. Traded 1.2 HP in and what a difference. This will be Skoda number 10.

Could it be something to do with the air conditioning?
