  1. ... plus you will have to wait months for the new one. Seems a good price to me, good luck with the sale.
  2. Cheers, is there any details somewhere on this recall, and how would I find out if it had been done?
  3. Hi, Just purchased an Octavia Vrs on an 09 plate (pre facelift), had it about 6 weeks. Its covered 9,000 miles. I have felt the DSG gearbox a bit kind of 'lumpy' over the past few days, and tonight whilst travelling slowly in traffic all the gear lights started flashing (P R N D S). It still travelled along ok, but I was only doing about 20mph at the time. I pulled in, and being and 'IT Guy' decided the best course of action was to switch it off and switch it back on again, which of course seems to have cured the problem. I have read a few articles on the VW forums regarding this issue, and it could mean a seriously expensive (although under warranty) DSG box problem. Any thoughts or advice please, I can guarentee if I take it back to the dealers they won't be able to replicate the problem. Will a fault code show up in the history however? Thoughts appreciated. regadrs Gary
  4. count me in, keep me informed of the dates.
  5. What do you mean by 'correct the MPG Calculation'?
  6. Great thanks guys, yes was wanting to cross check against the V5. Cheers.
  7. Thanks I found both of those, it has the vin numberbut not the engine number / colour codes etc There is normally a metal vin plate somewhere in the engine bay isnt there with this detail?
  8. I need my engine number, have searched the car for the VIN plate, where does it hide please? 2009 Octavia Vrs?
  9. ... I thought it hadnt closed the fridge too, but if you watch the whole vid its sent back to do that. What it didnt do was open the bottle and pour it in a glass however.....
  10. Add maxidot, I wish I had it on mine, its a cheap factory fit optin (about a hundred quid I think), but a pain and expensive to fit afterwards. Cruise too ? Multifuctional Steering Wheel?
  11. I have confirmed its Pre-Facelift, has maxidot though and parking sensors, which I didnt think it had. Got Cruise too. Really looking forward to it, right spec for me with the DSG box too. Anything else I should look out for, obviously its around 18 months old but with 6000 miles will not have been serviced as yet. Its from a main dealer though so I have 'some' peace of mind.
  12. I used to own a 2003 Octy Vrs, and have had loads of cars since, but it was always one of my favourite cars. Picking up tommorrow a 2009 CR 170 DSG Octy Vr in Race Blue, I'm so excited! Its only done 6000 miles, anything I should look out for, I have not seen it in the flesh as yet!!!! Also I am aware of the FL in 2009, and I am fairly sure mine is not FL, however the interior should be I think juding on the date (March 2009), how can I tell? Anyway Can't wait!
  13. Hi, thanks for your comments guys. I do about 16k pe year. Has the DSG got the flappy paddles on the vrs as yet and any feedback?
  14. Hi all, I I have not been on the site for a few years now, having traded my much missed Octavia vRS in a while ago, and having been through several cars since. I'm really fancing coming back to a vRS, so a few questions. Firstly there is sure to be a lot of debat here Petrol or Diesel? My last one was the 1.8T petrol, but the diesel is looking favourable to me currently. Next DSG... Have the new models got the 'Flappy Paddles', are they any good, or is it best just sticking with manual. Good to hear from you all again... regards Gary
