  1. Sorry - disregard! It looks like the Fabia had used all 4 slots and wouldn't connect to a new device until I deleted one. Sorted!
  2. Hi all, hope this is the right forum to post this! Got a 2013 Fabia II vRS - and my previous phone (Nexus 5) and the one before that (Nexus 4) could connect via Bluetooth and stream music/calls no problem. Just got a new handset - 2nd generation Moto X - and the phone can't see the car, and the car can't see the phone! Any suggestions?
  3. I had this issue - it was because my seat was at it's lowest height setting. Try raising it up just a notch or two, this solved my seat squeaks completely!
  4. Thanks - you're right I should have done a search before creating this thread, as having done so I've now fixed it! As another member on here discovered, if you have the seat at it's lowest possible height adjustment, there's some play in it and it will squeak. Raising it up just a couple of notches takes the slack out of it and hence - no more squeaks. Very very pleased! Thanks Briskoda!
  5. Hi guys, I bought my Fabia vRS brand new in June, and shortly after the driver's seat started squeaking annoyingly. Took it back to the dealers and they couldn't replicate the issue (hmmm!). Since then it's got worse and it's driving me mad. Should I take it back again - is there a fix, or is it something I just have to live with?
  6. Well just an update - the noise has never happened since! So no idea what it was - it could have been a piece of luggage or another item in the car for a few days. But the good news is - I went back to my dealer and asked for a proper spare/jack and was given one without quibble! So thanks to all of you for making me aware of that.
  7. Thanks all. I bought the car a week and a half ago - the Skoda website and brochure both have the Fabia vRS as coming with a spacesaver. I'll ring the dealership and just ask them the question. And as a poster has already said, no way am I dismantling the car - it's got a 3 year warranty! Annoyingly, I test drove a car that had a space saver, then the one I bought didn't have one. Anyway. This noise - I will scrutinise it some more, but I'm almost positive it's door locks!
  8. No idea. Spare wheel is an optional extra in the UK. Most likely to reduce the weight and keep emissions down.
  9. Thanks George - I'm in the UK. Yes, the doors are set to auto-lock. I'm 90% sure it's a door lock mechanism I'm hearing rather than any other rattle/knocking from suspension. I've had a lot of older cars so I'm used to hearing those. I'll do some more experiments!
  10. Here's a strange one. Brand new vRS - when I corner hard, I get a sound from the opposite side of the car that I swear is the door lock auto-locking (or unlocking). If I turn hard right at speed, it comes from the left. If I turn hard left, it comes from the right. Seems to be from behind me so sounds like the back doors. Anyone else experienced this?
  11. Don't really want to start modifying the car if I'm honest - but if it really bugs me it's good to know that's an option!
  12. I see, so if I physically copy my artist/album folder structure to the Nexus 4, theoretically the MDI connection should allow me to browse it!
  13. Yes, I tried that - but regardless of which button I press (artists/albums etc) the right hand knob just scrolls through songs - and not even in order! I've ordered an MDI-Micro USB cable so I can see if my Nexus 4 will do the trick that way. I must say, BT AUDIO sounds a lot better than ipod via MDI, but then ipods have always sounded awful.
  14. Yes - it seems a bit odd that the Swing will show the information about the track being played very nicely, and the Swing can control the iPod with regards to forward and backwards on tracks, but can't navigate the artist/album information. But, if that's how it is - so be it! My other option is to use BT-AUDIO but my Nexus 4 doesn't have AVRCP 1.3 so that's not really ideal either. First world problems!
  15. Ah thank you brother! Not really the solution I was hoping for to be honest Do all iPods do this or is there a chance that newer ones would honour the folder structure?
  16. No - when the iPod is connected via MDI you can't use it at all.
  17. If I go to Browse then I get an 'up' button but this just takes me from where I am to the root of /songs which isn't really too helpful... Has it got anything to do with the fact it's an ancient iPod do you think?
  18. Hi all, Brand new Fabia vRS owner - love the car (met race blue with black pack). I'm having a few problems operating my iPod Touch (1st gen) from the Swing radio, I wonder if anyone can help? * How do I move between albums/artists? The controls on the stereo and steering wheel only seem to move between tracks within an album * What does the right hand knob actually do? I turned it to experiment and it seems to play tracks from the root of /songs in some kind of order I can't quite fathom Yes, I have read the manual but it doesn't really go into any detail on these things! Cheers
  19. Hi all - first post here! Looking to buy a 2012/2013 Fabia vRS with the phone prep option. From searching around, it appears that while my Nexus 4 will stream music over Bluetooth, it won't show track information or allow me to control it from the car itself as AVRCP 1.3 isn't supported on my handset, So, my question is - should I use the MDI cable (USB) instead, or will this just see my phone as a mass storage device and nothing else? Any other suggestions?
