  1. Previously owned a Fabia VRS and never knew about the expansion tank I could fill! Getting ridiculous mpg on my commute and big miles per tank. The trip computer is surprisingly accurate. Currently on 750 miles from 1 tank with ~100 miles left.
  2. So I picked up an 05 Red Fabia VRS a few weeks back! It's been well looked after but there are a few; (I hope tasteful), mods and fixes I'd like to do. So let the fun begin... Current to do list: Colour coded door handles, Colour coded grill surround, Updated Skoda badges front and rear, Original red piping leather seats, depending on cost... Otherwise just replacing driver seat as there is a tear in the bolster. Metal footrest cover, Potentially removing bump strips, Shadow grey or gun metal alloy refurb, Remove disintegrating engine cover foam New areal, Rear VRS floor mats, Fixing window switches, Replacing degraded rubber trim below windows, Pressed plates, A good detailing
  3. Thanks Kev Very much enjoyed the drive home, 57mpg and plenty of smiles. Glad to be back in a Fabia VRS. All the best!
  4. Right fuse no. 31 I think in top left corner had blown. changed it and boot opens when I try to open it. reattach the plastic cover and close boot. stuck closed again. check fuse and it's not blown but change it out for good measure and still not working. scratching my head a bit...
  5. Did this ever get sorted? Happened to mine today just as I'm moving house. Pain in the arse!!
  6. Got a leaky ASZ EGR! Interested in this
  7. Hey mate, any oil leaking from this?
  8. Yeah did still have power, as in still very quickly got up to motorway speeds. The pipe that's come loose had evidently been spraying **** all over the surrounding areas of the engine bay but with the speeds of the air passing through I guess the majority went straight on down the pipe and only a small percentage escaped because of the pressure differences. Cheers for the advice Tech, very useful!
  9. Haha yes, well it sounds like air from a canister when boosting! Not really a whistle, apologies if this is how I described it >_< I wasn't ragging it incase it was something serious like the turbo, there was more smoke than usual when I first booted it, but not with usual driving and I did 50 miles home doing 60 so mpg wasn't noticeably low. Performance was more sluggish but still had power.
  10. Cheers for the reply guys, think I found the culprit, boost pipe is off as it goes under the wheel arch, crap is sprayed everywhere and I can't get to it >:(
  11. Also no loss in MPG, still getting mid 50's relatively easily
  12. Had my vRS since August without an issue, although took it to a VW garage to get a few jobs done, mainly cambelt and water pump as it's at 73k. Day after the service and MOT my vRS makes a noise like compressed air is being released from a gas canister. It only makes the noise when I'm accelerating, around 1800-2900 RMP. There isn't any noticeable loss of power as far as I can tell. My vRS has a shark stage 1 map, 169BHP and 360Nm of torque. I've noticed lots of oil around the EGR valve but not much else as far as I can see. The garage overfilled the coolant, it's about 2cm above max, but didn't think this would be an issue. Has anyone experienced or heard about anything similar before? I was hoping it wasn't anything to do with the turbo as the garage already charged me a huge amount for what they did, won't be going back there again!
