  1. For what's it worth, my two mid sized half breed huskies (25kgr each) have an easy travel when we take them with us to our parents home every now and then. The round-trip is about 640 kms and we usually do one or two stops for refreshments (both for us and the dogs) in either direction. Most often the male is sitting on his back and is checking out through the windows while the female is usually taking her beauty naps. It's somewhat crowded when both stand on their both feet but they only do that few times, in case they wanna change sides so it doesn't get to be much of a problem or even a nuisance for them. Mind you we keep all back seats in their upstanding normal position and we have the skoda net divider to keep our four legged family members from entering the passengers area. We also have the spare wheel option too which makes it easier for the dogs to climb in plus they are higher so they have easier access to the side and back windows. All in all its amazing how fresh we all come out of the car after 320kms in each direction. I admit I feared that the boot space would not be adequate for such use in such long trips but now I'm happy that I was proved wrong and stand corrected while enjoying both the car and all family together in every chance we get (including the two four legged ones that is). Life is what happens while we... make plans!
  2. They say wishes are expression of unfullfilled dreams and desires. They say that going after dreams is for crazies. So they say. But a great person also said that in the end it's the crazy people who believe they...can, that change the world. But why am I sharing this thought with you in here this day? Because I like most of you proudly drive a car by a carmaker whose name was almost about to extinct some years ago. Because I was considered crazy for wanting to spent my money on a Skoda Yeti. Especially considering the adversities where I live. Oh well... if that's crazy then I admit I am. And I love every second of it. I do and I do it with pride. And look at me now. Member of Briskoda. A unique company of people all over the world. Or should I say crazies? So here's to all you. May you all keep being this kind of crazy who believe they ... can. Happy new year! Life is what happens while we... make plans!
  3. Galaxy Note 2 works fine with bluetooth connection as well. Life is what happens while we... make plans!
  4. I 'm one of those who like (adore would be more appropriate) the Yeti with round fog-lights over the FL any given day. But it is also as important for everyone to understand that the above statement applies to me and my taste alone. Meaning even if the whole rest of the world were not to like it, I' d still would. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If more people were to like something and find it beautiful then it would be even better but the most (and usually only) important thing is what I like. That being said, I think the above should apply for those who like/love the FL shape too. And any car/make/model further more. As long as people respect my choice and taste I don't mind if they like it too. So for all of you who like FL over old shape please know that you all count as Yeti-ans as I'll ever be, to my eyes. What really matters is that YOU will like the car you get inside and out. PS. As English is not my native language, I hope the message communicates through and there won't be any misunderstanding. Life is what happens while we... make plans!
  5. Good thing for both you and Snowy that you caught it before it happens! I am in the same page, just opposite sides. Used to have patrols and now on diesel. Life is what happens while we... make plans!
  6. Myself and the other half being owners of a Yeti for the last 10 days now, are pretty sure that you and hubby will not only enjoy it but gonna actually LOVE it. Wish you the best and welcome to the Yeti-ans :-)
  7. My princess, waiting to pick me up from work for a joyride back home! Life is what happens while we... make plans!
  8. I have to admit this thought crossed my mind too when I decided to put that in my order of the car! It was definitely not the decisive point on the matter but my pups being higher so they can have a better view of the road and the way the car moves, is a plus the way I see things. Real benefit though always being the reassurance that with a spare I can get away out of most cases rather than with just the gunk.
  9. No worries. I just thought a clarification was well suited for I've seen so many times nowadays obvious and simple things needing clarification in real life communication let alone internet communication.
  10. Ditto My like and apparently the thank is for Graham making the effort and NOT for Bob leaving!
  11. Wish all goes well for those of you who have unexpected delays on your orders. Me being one who (willingly) waited 6 months for delivery (like many others here as well), I know how it feels and hope it turns out to be just a temp hiccup of the system.
  12. My Yeti (just delivered 7 days ago) with round fog lights has 2 bulbs in the housing. Think its, DRL and Fog lights respectively if that helps.
  13. Good point. Re non Yeti owners there certainly are some good reasons they were/are not Yeti owners, one of them being personal taste but the poll can't measure that now. I've only stated the poll for it shows that many people do like the FL which is a good thing (Mind you, I am one of those who don't prefer FL looks but that's sort of irrelevant to this point)
  14. I think that Johan's poll showed otherwise. That being said, if I am fair, although I am one of those who strongly prefer the round fogs regarding the Yeti I also strongly believe that when it comes to taste it really is each to their own and most importantly no matter what majorities and/or minorities believe or think, one should always stick and stay loyal to his/her own preferences, for at the end of the day it's the individual that must live and be happy. In other words if you like it then that's way more than enough and should be more than enough for the rest too.

    MPG anomaly

48 instead of 42 mpg?! I'd consider calling it a "favor" instead. "Anomaly" would be just the opposite!
  16. If delayed deliveries grow to a big scale (keyword is if), then I have to say that as Skoda is strict on up to when a customer can make a valid change on his order the same should apply to themselves too. After all its not like every confirmed buyer (downpayment deposited) can and will want to wait as Skoda sees fit every time disregarding their own said delivery date. Its bad practic
  17. not yet a collector's item but give it time And as for a toy ... ohh well reading the 2nd part of my nickname it will always be a toy too (for me at least)
  18. The word around is that FL production begins the 45 week of November so unless something extraordinary has happened it seems your friend will be another happy smiling Yeti user! If anyone knows different feel free to correct me though.
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong but for argument's sake let's say 235/55 R17 would fit on a Yeti. Wouldn't that mean bigger fuel consumption? Where's the good in that? What's wrong with 225/50 R17? I find them wide and big enough already to be honest.
  20. Pas mal!! That's a very intriguing idea I may consider for my own as well!
  21. ^ @Truthseeker ^^ @Brijo +1 and I mean count me in too! Apart from that I find them also way too busy for my taste as well.
  22. Agreed. And that's the way I thought and acted upon it too. Had we the L&K trim in our country I certainly would have considered it. But we don't hence no trim comes with Columbus as standard. The best system one can get as standard here is Amundsen in Experience trim and then add another 1250 Euros to that for a Columbus unit which would be too much for me given my needs since Amundsen is more than good enough. The only thing I would envy regarding Columbus is the bigger screen which I find it's a plus but then again 5" screen is not small either.
  23. I myself could do without sat-nav as I had already other "portable" sat-nav too but if I am honest then I have to admit that built-in sat-nav, integrated in the stereo unit is way much more convenient than anything else I used in the past. Remains to be seen about performance/upgrades though. So far it copes well for me and I really think I did the right thing ordering it as an extra (Amundsen). And yes Columbus seems a bit greedy for me too given my needs and the added price tag.
  24. Thank you for the wishes dear friend!!! And for the people here "kalotaxido" means "good/safe travel" in greek. Living in the same country you certainly know best the driving conditions here. Indeed I couldn't have said it better for the pathetic excuse we use for roads! Re the 17" wheels it was very late when I finally decided/discovered I'd be better off with 16" wheels and I wouldn't go for another change of order even if it meant the end of the world after what we been through to make the first change. Like you I owned a 2 seater (BMW Z3) previously where I could feel even a coin laying on the road so the change to the Yeti is like a revelation for me in terms of comfort even with the 17" wheels and a big big surprise regarding steering given the size, weight and height of the Yeti. Along the way I'm considering to do the same as you and get me a set of all seasons paired with 16" wheels for winter time though. (No way I would need proper winter tyres given the weather here). As for Bi-Xenons what can I say... the difference is like night and day. Literally! I do drive outside Athens weekly and use to travel across Europe annually so I can't wait to be honest! Again thank you for your wishes. Allow me to wish you back the same with yours! Kalotaxido and may you have happy times with it all the time!
  25. Thank you, you're very welcome and I certainly plan to take your advice to heart and keep on driving like there is no tomorrow! Every day and every night as well
