  1. I went from an A4 Avant to a mk2 and the presence of the engine was marked. You just felt much closer to it. I always find it interesting comparing the weights of say a Superb to an A4 or A6 (the new Kodiak is apparently much lighter than the all aluminium Jaguar F pace). You have to arrive at the conclusion that there is far less substance to Skodas. I think Audis probably get double bulkheads filled with insulation, while Skodas make do with one.
  2. Whaaaat just checked the configuration app. Black now available in L&K!
  3. Hi I'm thinking about ordering a UK spec SEL. Driver seat is all electric with memory, but what does the other front passenger get as standard? I know it will be manual, but will it include height, lumbar and recline?? Thanks
  4. Thanks for the write up. Still undecided on getting a stripped out 190d SEL or a loaded 150petrol SEL. This has nudged me towards the 150
  5. Keen to get your thoughts on the 1.4 once you have put some miles on her. I'm likely to choose that engine too.
  6. I had an Audi A4 Avant and went to a SuperB 2. To me it felt like the Superb possibly had only a single bulkhead and perhaps the Audi a double one. The engine in the Superb just felt a little closer and less insulated. I have an Audi A7 at the moment, but am planning to downgrade to a Superb3 to save on the monthly BIK etc. The A7 is incredibly quiet, particularly on the motorway. I thinking that this will be the one thing I will really miss. i hoping a swap from a 3.0l diesel to a 2.0 petrol might offset this a little.
  7. Is Lane Assist worth the money? I have fantasies of the car almost being self driven in the motorway (with active cruise control). Is it that effective?
  8. I'm thinking the same. I had an estate in the last model, and it was clearly better looking, but this time the hatch has such a sweet stance (slightly Coke bottle) and that just doesn't work so well on the estate.
  9. Jungle green is growing on me.
  10. I would be keen to hear too. Data suggests that the 150 is the new 170 for performance, most likely due to weight reduction. Therefore, is the 190 an unnecessary luxury?
  11. Business Grey is actually my favourite. Looks the dogs with the 19 inchers on the L&K
  12. Hi all. Can someone tell me what functionality the passenger seat has on a SEL? Specs suggest only the drivers seat is powered, but does the passenger seat have manual height and lumber adjustment? Cheers
  13. Does the SEL with electric drivers seat only have lumber adjustment for the passenger?
  14. Yes I have that issue with my passanger seat. Nice find on the solution.
  15. 122gkm meant it was too bad - particularly when going from 2.0 to 3.0. That's the same as my Superb btw.
  16. £100 but I loaded the A6 to get it match my Superb. The A7 comes loaded from the start.
  17. Update. After 2 weeks, lost patience on a 6 month wait and bust the bank on a flip to a A7 Ultra.
  18. I do love the Skoda, and you are right about the ride. When I moved from the A4 it felt like falling into a comfi sofa.
  19. After moving from an A4 Avant to an Elegance 170 combi, I have been tempted back by the 4 rings. The new A6 Ultra makes a good Bik position into an enticing proposition. My head says that the Combi ticks all the boxes, particularly as I loaded it with extras. Making the S Line match that has pushed it to near 40k, but on my company car lease I will only be paying about £20 a month more. In the end my heart, and more superficial things have won out. Obviously the badge is a factor, but sitting low with a chunky transmission tunnel and beautiful design just made the difference. 6 month waiting list, but some lucky chap will get a lovely 18 month old Elegance.
  20. Your terms usually set it out in detail. I.e. 2cm marks on alloys etc. But it all depends on the person picking up. Some go over with a microscope, others give it a brief walk around - even from the same company.
