  1. I don't suppose you still have this part, do you?
  2. Thanks. I took it to my local independent VAG/Skoda specialist and they reset it while I waited, and didn't charge me anything! Volks Autos | Complete Garage Services for Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda and BMW
  3. My 2006 Octavia has developed a really irritating intermittent fault. The seatbelt warning light randomly illuminates, with accompanying loud "dinging" noise. This only appears to happen when there is a passenger in the front seat, so I assumed the problem was the sensor or wiring for that seat and disconnected the 2 multi-plugs under the passenger seat. This did not solve the problem, and also meant that the airbag warning light came on, so I re-connected them but now the airbag warning light won't go out I looked in the owner's manual and it implies that the seatbelt warning only applies to the driver's seat. Does anyone know if this is correct, because the problem with the seatbelt warning only happens when someone is in the passenger seat? So I have 2 problems now. The airbag warning light, which I presume needs re-setting because I disconnected the wiring for the airbag, and the original intermittent fault with the seat belt warning. The car is a 2006 L&K so has heated leather "sports" seats. So 3 questions. 1. Does the seatbelt warning only apply to the driver's seat? (In which case it is just coincidence that the problem only occurs when I have a passenger). 2. Can I reset the airbag warning light myself, or do I have to take it to a VAG/Skoda garage? 3. Can I disable the seat belt warning light/bell myself? Thanks in advance.
  4. The two lights in the luggage compartment of my 2006 Mk2 Octavia estate are not working. I have taken them out and tested the bulbs and both are working, so I assumed it is the switch. However, looking on here I see that the switch is in the tailgate catch mechanism and also operates the "boot lid open" warning on the MaxiDot display. This display works, which suggests the switch is OK. It is worth mentioning that the tailgate was replaced after an accident earlier this year, and this may be the first time that I have opened the tailgate in the dark since then so I wonder if the wires have not been reconnected? Before I start taking things apart, can anyone advise which wires do what, and what I should be looking for?
  5. Thanks. Can you post a link? I have been searching eBay and not been able to find the correct ones, only the L&K ones for later models and the FSI one for a 1.6.
  6. Someone crashed into the back of my car in a traffic jam. The only damage was a dent in the tailgate and some scrapes on the bumper. It has been repaired well, with a new tailgate fitted, but they did not replace or re-fit the badges on the tailgate and it seems that they have disposed of the old tailgate with the badges still attached. I have not been able to find these badges for sale anywhere online so does anyone know where I could get them, or have some old ones for sale? I understand that the "Laurin & Klement" badge is particularly difficult to find, because they only used that design for a short time. (They do look cheap, I remember it being compared to a cake decoration!)
