  1. Thanks for that, there’s no other symptoms of clutch related issues, gear changing etc is smooth with no slipping,, is there anyway of confirming that the DMF is on its way out?
  2. I have a similar issue with my 2012 superb CR170 4x4, 99k, only in top gear and under acceleration load uphill, take foot off throttle and it’s fine. Springs recently replaced, wheels refurbed, brakes ok, any ideas please?
  3. My iphone 5 works well, both as a phone (thats novel these days I know) and streaming music over BT, very pleased with it.
  4. Well I've come to a compromise with the Skoda dealer, they wouldn't change all the tyres, they are insistent that the tyres are approved for use by Skoda, however they have agreed to remove the Accelera's and fit Champiro's so they match the rear. I'm happy enough with this given the Champiro reviews are ok, they're ordering the tyres in and they'll be fitted next week.
  5. That was my expectation Jakeblade, there's still 2 years 3 months of manufacturers warranty to run. Still waiting for a response from the garage!!!!!
  6. I think I'll be on Continentals by the end of the week, just driven back to Yorkshire from Northumberland, the whining road noise at 50 - 60 mph was awful!!
  7. United, I saw the old tyres, they were all down to the wear markers, I wouldn't have taken delivery with the old tyres on, it's the cheap tat they've fitted that bothers me!!
  8. Rover 220, in some ways you're right, the car is fit for purpose, however the fitting of budget rubber is an approach I would expect from a car supermarket or back street dealer, not a skoda main dealer. I'm with peanut in not scrimping on tyres. if I can't get any joy out of the dealer I'll be changing these, I've no confidence in them. Anyone want to buy a pair of Accelera's ot Champiro's - lol
  9. Thanks for your responses, most people seem to be in agreement that this was low mileage for so much wear, I'm in the midd;e of discussions with the dealer about the cheap rubber they fitted, the only place I can find the Accelera's is on Ebay, they're £60 each on there, needless to say I'm not impressed, lets see what they say, though I'm not holding my breath that they'll do anything!!!
  10. Hi everyone I'm a new skoda owner, just bought a 2012 62 plate Elegance 170 4x4 estate, 13k on the clock from a main dealer. Car is immaculate other than needing 4 new tyres. I've got an ongoing debate with the dealer as they fitted budget tyres , Champiro on the back and Accelera on the front, I'd never heard of these until I looked them up, not good reliable brands from the reviews, "ditch finders " according to some reviews. My query is what sort of mileage are people getting from tyres, 13K seemed low or is this reasonable?, I had an A5 quattro in the past, so same engine and running gear almost? got closer to 20K on Bridgestones? Terry
  11. Hi folks Just joined the forum as new skoda owner, picked up my Superb Elegance Estate 170 4x4, 2012 car on a 62 plate, 13k on the clock, bought from a main dealer yesterday. Very pleased with it, my only concern is tyres, dealer fitted new rubber all round but put Accelra ? on the front and Champiro? on the rear, anyone got any experience of these tyres, they're new to me? I can feel a discussion with the dealer coming on, I would have preferred OEM tyres?
