  1. @ Ryan90VRS & any other Fabia MK1 owners coming across this thread - Gigaros do fit on your Furbies. Check out this guy's car: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/231138-mk1-vrs-on-new-black-vrs-gigaro-wheels/
  2. @Ryan90VRS - no idea pal - I'm brand new to the world of Skoda ownership! Anyone out there able to answer that or better yet post a pic if it had been done? Ta
  3. Hello all, Thought I'd offer these on here before chucking them on flEaBAY later on. These alloys were the standard Gigaros that came with my vRS. I have NEVER driven on them as they were swapped for Anthracite ones at the dealership before I picked up my car. I've given them a clean so have a look & feel free to ask anything. I'm looking for £400 ONO for them. I'm based in the borough of Camden in "the smoke", I'm happy to arrange to meet if anyone wants to collect or if anyone wants to sort couriers themselves I can follow instructions reasonably well :p an0therid P.s. Edited to say looking at Interparcel I can get these sent for around £35 next day or £28 2-day (thanks czechitout)
  4. Has anyone had their door light NOT switch off when they get in their Fabia & start driving? Its turns off when I leave my vRS & lock it but if I'm sat in it & driving I have to turn off the door lights manually... which is pretty annoying! Just want to see if this is normal before I moan at the dealership that sold me my motor.
  5. Don't know how to get rid of this post-thread. Don't want to be breaking the rules!
  6. Any good suggestions for cleaning the tyre gunk left on my original alloys after they'd been swapped for new ones?
  7. Hmm if the handles are going to be particularly tricky I think I'll just stick with the roof. Wrap vs Spray - most places I've looked at that would do a wrap & not look like they'd end up cutting into the paintwork underneath here in Laaaandan want near £200 for it & I figure I'd be happier spending that bit more to get the roof sprayed. My motor's brand new & I took out the "smart" repair service too so if I ever get any nicks on the roof & it's been sprayed then at least they'll fix it whereas if it was wrapped I'd have to get the whole thing done again. Just one of the reasons I'm going with a spray. Shame the full Monte (drum roll :P ) look wasn't available for the vRS but since the vRS now comes with smoked headlights, & black mirrors, & grill it's nearly there anyway. I went for the dark alloys as opposed to black.
  8. Am getting the roof of my red vRS sprayed black soon as that's how I wanted it originally but there were none available already made & I didn't want to wait until the next Ice Age for my exact spec. Found a decent seeming garage that'll do it for £300 or maybe less & then I got thinking... What would black door handles look like & would that be particularly hard for the sprayers to do? Any thoughts &/or any photoshop types fancy colouring up a picture? I already have black side mouldings so I thought why not have a few more black accents on the car alongside a black roof?
  9. Doh! Like I said - know nothing about cars :P Thanks for that I'll have a read of the manual while I'm on the "throne" before my early shift & give that a bash before wailing at the dealer! Would go & try it now but the gf who's already snoozing for her early would go spare seeing as I've spent all night fussing over the new car!
  10. Evening, Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what might be ailing my brand new vRS that I've owned for less than 5 hours - after about 45 mins after driving my new baby away from the dealership the tyre warning light came on. I thought nothing of it as I have a pump at home & put it down to the dealership putting in too little/much air. Sure enough the least filled tyre was at 3.5 bar so I let some out until it got closer to the 2.5/2.4 mark... however the friggin warning light is still on! I'm going to be calling the dealership first thing tomorrow & then drive straight there after work to sort it out but thought I'd throw it out the on the forum to see if anyone had any theories. FYI not sure if this might affect things at all but I had the standard Gigaro alloys swapped out at the dealership for the Anthracite Gigaros... so possibly something to do with that? I don't know as I've got very little knowledge about vehicles beyond driving them! an0therid
  11. All things considered I think I'll just leave the car & my wallet alone in that case! :p
  12. @xk140 - steering clear of remaps initially cos that's definitely writing off my warranty. I was however letting myself get convinced the mods I mentioned would lead to performance gains. The more I ask around the more it seems opinions are divided about them so I'll probably just get my roof painted black to match the spec I originally wanted & just enjoy the car until my pcp draws to a close. P.s. are remaps fine on their own without any hardware put in?
  13. @dobbey - thanks that was a really simple explanation. My eyes were glazing over when I looked on websites that sell the things! I've just gotta weigh up the risk v fun factor with citygate Skoda saying the warranty won't cover anything they can blame on installed mods.
  14. Evening all, So in anticipation of the end of the month or maybe a bit before when I get to drive my old heap to my Skoda dealer & come away with my vRS I've let some more petrol-headed mates fill my ears with talk about mods. With my warranty in mind & the possibility of trading in at the end of my PCP for something else I think I'll stay away from remapping however I did choose the vRS over a 1.6 so clean it's got no road tax Civic because the test drive won me over & I guess if I can make it a little more nippy with a few simple mods then why not. So an induction kit & air filter seem easy enough with some picture guides, even for someone whose car knowledge ends with a tire change! I maaaaay think about a performance exhaust that I'll have a garage install for me later on. However I was just wondering if anyone would mind giving me an idiot's guide version of how all these bits make a difference & would it be a noticeable one? Ta
