  1. I've been using this dealer for servicing and parts since I bought my Fabia vRS used in July 2013. The car is showing 50k miles and has served me well, despite having the notorious CAVE engine - using half a litre of oil roughly every 2500 miles. I get 50mpg on a long run and around 37-40mpg around town. I get it MOT'd each year at a local workshop for £25. I was more or less happy with the cost and customer service from Listers, despite the constant pushing of aircon services and injector cleaning additives during cold telephone calls (despite booking it in online). Earlier this year, I was looking to buy a new Superb. I booked in for a test drive and was pretty appalled by the attitude and demeanour of the salesman. Suffice to say I am no longer looking to buy a new Skoda of any type after this experience. I was considering complaining, but I will deprive Skoda of my custom instead. My next car will be a Ford, purchased from any garage except a Listers franchise.
  2. I got the car booked in with Listers Skoda Coventry (in Bedworth which was closer than Farmers in Leicester), having had dealings with the Listers group in the past and being satisfied with how they looked after me, I was pretty happy to leave it with them to have a ponder over. The aircon is now sorted, no hesitation from the engine anymore, turned out it needed re-gassing. The transmission rattle, I was told were normal shifting noises from the DSG transmission - I remain unconvinced that this is a fair explanation to be honest, the transmission does however, operate faultlessly. A friend of mine owns a virtually identical vRS with similar mileage and that doesn't rattle. I'll tell my friend to get his in ASAP as it doesn't make the noises it should! Regards.
  3. Hi all, Picked up my 60 plate vRS last weekend, just over 30k on the clock and am completely smitten with it, except for a couple of issues. First of all, the aircon seems to work intermittently and is quite noisy, making what I can only describe as a chugging noise when heard from outside the car at idle, it does blow ice cold however. Yesterday, I experienced some hesitation from the drivetrain when the aircon was on. This hesitation is totally absent with aircon switched off. I have also noticed that nothing seems to happen when the air recirculation button is pressed (Climatic system). Pressing this button seems to cause all of the problems to start though! I'm assuming there must be some control unit problem, sticking flaps, compressor failure or all three. Secondly, I have noticed a very faint rattling which seems to be coming from the nearside front at low speed over uneven ground. It is only noticeable with nearside front window open, it isn't audible with windows closed. I've read that this could be the transmission, hopefully it isn't and is something minor! It still has 6 months Skoda warranty to run, so it will be going in to Farmers Skoda, Leicester - anybody here familiar with them, have any opinions or horror stories about them? Thanks for taking the time to read this post - any advice or info is much appreciated! Noris :sun:
  4. Hi there, I'm a virgin Briskoda user that has been been rescued by a Skoda Fabia vRS - my previous motor most unfortunately was a Focus Saloon! I think you probably get the idea... Anyway, Loving the new motor and I'm looking forward to contributing to the forums. I'm in Leicestershire so if you see me about then give us a flash! (My name isn't really Noris btw) Rgds.
