  1. Does anyone know if the cd changer in the boot is coded or set to the car? Mine has died so I need to get a replacement but some eBay listings mention a code or the need to have it set to the car? Thanks in advance
  2. Anyone...............???? Open to sensible offers
  3. Came as part of the replacement dashboard I purchased for my rebuild Passenger Airbag 1K0880204H Steering Wheel Airbag (not inc steering wheel) 1Z0880201N 3X1 Airbag ECU 1K0909605N Any good to anyone - open to offers.
  4. Set of 4 Audi TT alloys, front faces have had a quick tidy up - now almost too good as winter wheels..... All running 225/45/17 Yokohama Winter & Snow tyres. All 5mm tread depth or above. High res images available by request. Centre caps have been made to look like Skoda (badges are glued over the STD Audi caps). Could do with a rebalance but all seem to run ok. Localted in Worthing so collection only - NO POST £450 ovno
  5. Many thanks - that's a useful link for the future ;-) I still can't see the fixings/ nuts in the bumper or bodywork front slides.... If anyone can remember or is under their car and can detail, it would be much appreciated
  6. Does anyone know what fixings I need for the underside of the front bumper on my 06 VRS? It looks like there should be screws on the underside that screw in to some mounts in the radiator/ slam panel bracket - I don't have the screws or the bits in the bracket - just holes! An on-line parts diagram would be a big help. TIA, Kev
  7. Have you ducted any cold air in from the front for the filter? If so, where from? I've done mine from the removable side panels from the lower grille (just opened the slots out a bit more rather than cutting a big hole in it!!) and removing all the ducting for the standard airbox on top of the radiators. But I would still like to get better airflow in there.........
  8. I've just fitted a Ramair kit to my 06 VRS, see here https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/447791-engine-cover/ But I've now been reading about heat soak and water in the sparkplug hole issues........ Has anyone fitted a heat shield to the rear engine cover mounts or to the filter as additional protection? If so, where did you get the parts from? (Garagemidnight on Ebay??) What about the water issue? Has anyone made a water cover for the top of the engine? Or am I just being paranoid??? ATB, Kev.
  9. Now possibly looking for a swap......... https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/447791-engine-cover/
  10. I guess this applies to all Skoda's but as I've got a MK2, I put it in here ;-) I'm on the search for a replacement dash after the accident. Looking on Ebay, there's a few listed with very similar part numbers - apart from 4 or 5 digits at the end. Example: mine is 1Z2857007A AE47H, Ebay is 1Z2857007A AN47H Any ideas on the end numbers - I thought it was trim colour?
  11. TBH I'm torn between a blue fin and an old skool map (well, that's what I can them!!) Again, would want it done local so I could shout at people if needed! ;-)
  12. I'm looking for local (well, Sussex based!) recommendations for remapping my '06 VRS. Ideally based on your own experiences. JKM in Pompey seem to be mentioned a lot - and experience?
  13. I didn't disconnect the exhaust or the drive shafts but it is alarming how much you have to jack the engine up to get the mount out! Why the hell hasn't it been designed in 2 bits??!! It's the bit that bolts to the block that's the problem I used the Autodata disc so used that for the tensioner and idler fixing torque settings etc. On the tensioner, just do the centre nut up finger tight, set the tension with the allen key, then tighten the nut (get the 13mm spanner ready first as it's an arse realising that you need it and its just out of reach before hand!!) Buy the kit to get the water pump and the idler rollers too
  14. Just done mine today, water pump and aux belt too.......... Which AR5E designed that bloody engine mount??!!!
  15. I've had a bit of a splutter/ misfire under heavy acceleration (perfectly fine on idle and steady throttle) and it's thrown error code P0302 Cylinder 2 misfire. I've change all the plugs and coil pack #2, cleared the codes but still playing up, showing the code again. Any ideas? Cheers, Kev.
  16. I haven't got an activation light on my '06 VRS cluster/ maxidot either
  17. Just as an update - I've now had these in over a week, no issues so far. And a really helpful seller too (I cocked up the order!) Now looking for door lights to match............
  18. I must admit, they weren't the most expensive but even so, they should work if advertised as 'canbus, error free' (something to take up with the seller!!) I went for them as they are an enclosed style, rather than the open PCB type (as Tilt has got) - I thought there might be a risk of moisture issues? I'll try to post a photo (haven't got an on-line photo account) Tilt - I was asking about the load resistors as Fizzmo mention them on the listing for their 501 LED's on VW/ Skoda etc...........
  19. Did you need the load resistors too? (Sorry to go on about this but it's really pi55ing me off!!)
  20. When they've gone off, if I turn the sidelights off for a few seconds and then back on, they come on - and then go off again!! Any examples of half decent ones? ;-)
  21. I've brought 2 pairs of LED sidelights (Ebay). 1 set were advertised as Canbus, error free, the other set were advertised specifically for the Octavia. Both sets work but only for 5-10 seconds and then they go off. Anyone had similar before? Or got the details of a set that work (shopping time again.......!!) TIA. Kev.
