  1. I went to a third party because the local dealer didn't complete the diagnostic and repair on the date they had the car, the next available date was a month away. The point is that i believe the haldex failed because VAG don't clean or replace the filters during the haldex service, and for that they should be compensating me. The third party garage is one of the most respected VAG independents in the country.
  2. I had a complaint in with Skoda UK regarding my Haldex pump failure at 38k miles. My aim was to get reimbursed for the cost of the repair as i believe the failure was due to clogged filters. They contacted me yesterday with the usual scripted response and fobbed me off, because the repair was carried out by a 3rd party they cannot reimburse me blah blah blah. Could not or would not comment on why VAG don't have a replacement part for the filter when all other manufacturers that use the gen 4 haldex do. I hung up on the guy in the end cos it was like listening to a broken record. I'll be submitting a new complaint.
  3. Recently had a Haldex fault on my 2013 Yeti at 38K miles. I'd suspected it for a couple of months but it was confirmed with a diagnostic during a service. The pump was intermittently open circuit. I took it to The Phirm in Blackwater, really good guys! They found the pump gauze and filter completely clagged up. This is the filter that VAG don't replace or even have a part number for. Pump and filter replaced and it works a treat now, honestly feels like a different beast to drive, not the slightest bit of slip from the wheels when accelerating hard. The car has been serviced from new by Skoda and the Haldex Fluid replaced at the correct intervals. I firmly believe the failure is due to the pump gauze and filter not being cleaned or replaced during the service. If you're in the Hants/Berks/surrey border area and are looking for a good VAG specialist then get in touch with The Phirm www.thephirm.co.uk
  4. Anyone able to take a photo of the same area of bumper on their yeti before i go back to the dealer?
  5. Theres nothing on the other side either, looks the same. I cant remember what it was like pre repair.
  6. Just had my front bumper replaced after a prang. It needs to go back to the dealer as it's not fitting correctly. I've incuded a photo of what appears to be a mounting hole, should there be some sort of fixing like a screw or snap rivet in there? Just doesnt look right, can anyone take a snap of what it looks like on your yeti. Cheers
  7. 2013 yeti TDI 170 4x4 I've noticed the last few days i am able to spin the front wheels when pulling out of junctions and giving it some welly coming off a roundabout on a damp road. Never in the 5 years of owning the car have i been able to get wheelspin like that so i suspect i may have a haldex issue. Reading on here one of the common causes is low battery volts. Car still has the original battery fitted. I checked the voltage and it is currently reading 12.1v with the engine off, about 14.4v with the engine running, dips to 9v when starting. Car is on 37k miles and is due a service so i guess its due for the haldex fluid and filter change, The fluid was changed a couple of years ago. Hopefully it'll be a simple fix but if it does need the pump changing what sort of money am i looking at? Cheers Steve
  8. No i'm not on the esurance scheme. Martins VW in basingstoke are quoting tomorrow. I'd like to get a couple more quotes.
  9. Can anyone recommend a good repair shop in the Fleet/Farnborough/Basingstoke area. The Yeti had a disagreement with a concrete fence post so will need a new wing and likely front bumper. Direct line want to put it through their inhouse repairer DLG autos in Aldershot, I'd rather not!
  10. Can anyone recomend a good body repair centre in the hants/berks/surrey border area. I'm based in Fleet, hampshire. It's just a scuff and small dent to the nearside rear door right on the protective film (car park pillar) but probaly requires a door respray.
  11. Posted on behalf of brother in law. This is a very clean low mileage car. Selling to get something bigger. £4,995 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201409127340255
  12. Don't have roof bars yet but it is something i will be buying in the future. I'm just looking into whether howdens will deliver it instead.
  13. Hmm, seems 2.4m is about maximum. Wonder if it would fit in my dads fabia estate...
  14. Saw a multicoloured yeti with ECILOP on the front in Basingstoke on saturday.
  15. Quick question, Will a 3m x 60mm worktop fit in the yeti with rear seats out and front seat folded flat?
  16. Thank you for all the replies, we went out yesterday and looked at loads of prams and travel systems. We're pretty much set on the uppababy vista, seems to be very highly rated and is over £200 cheaper than the equivalent icandy/bugaboo version and. Folds neatly and I think will easily fit into the yeti boot upright, on its side or even laying flat.
  17. So my wife and i had some fantastic news recently, baby #1 due in december! I'm just doing some home work on prams/pushchairs and wondered if anyone on here could share thier experiences, namely how well they fold and fit into the yeti boot and compatability with car seats. (we're sold on the maxi cosi cabrio fix) At the moment we like the idea of a complete travel system from the likes of bugaboo, i candy etc but the prices are eye watering! Any advice greatly recieved! Thanks
  18. Doubt it needs a new wing, only lightly pushed in.
  19. The wife just had a coming together with a pillar in a multi-storey. Can anyone give a rough idea of cost to repair from the attached picture? It's on the rear arch just in front of the wheel, right on the clear plastic protector. Also any recommendations for a good repair centre on the surey/hants/berks border are, I'm based in Fleet. Thanks
  20. Thanks all. Fitted some nightbreakers last night, simple job really. only tricky bit was getting the locating tab lined up. Nearside one went in first time
  21. I got a wave from a Muscovado 12 plate on the Crookham road in Fleet this morning, anyone on here?
  22. Ok, so i obviously do more right hand turns than left as the offside foglight bulb has gone in my 63 plate yeti. Going to replace the pair while i'm at it so couple of questions:- Are they easy enough to access and replace? Is it worth upgrading while i'm at it? eg osram night breakers or Led type? Cheers
  23. Yep,just me and a load of bags of sand.
  24. It'll be bags of sharp sand, so loaded evenly in the boot.
  25. Just wondering what is the maximum safe weight to carry in the yeti boot. Looking to transport approx 250kg over a distance of 5 miles.
