  1. A massive **** up. I took delivery of my 2.0 TDI Elegance estate in sept but it was not the colour I ordered. So they ordered me another which I was led to believe was exactly the same spec. It is meant to be being built this week. I find out via this forum about the front assist issue which I have on the original car I am driving now. I emailed the dealer asking if this will cause delays and he told me that the new one was ordered without front assist because of these issues. I am livid that I have not been told this by the dealer and probably would have only found out that I didn't have front assist after driving the car away. Thank goodness for these forums. I am having park assist on the new one for free but that is worth £450 and I'm going to be making three extra finance payments of £270 x 3 which is more than £450. So still I'm not getting the car I want. I like front assist and I just feel that my experience of buying a new car with skoda a nightmare. I love the car but skoda are crap and so is my local dealer.
  2. Errrrrm of course I'm not at fault, I'm a woman!! I've not suddenly become a sh#t driver, I have mastered gear changes after 16 years!
  3. Yes it is, just come across that via a google search. I don't understand what it is but I read that its normal. Do you think that's why the start/stop didn't kick in when I stopped?
  4. Had car just over a week. A couple of times the engine fan has come on when stopping and a funny smell like rubber or oil burning is coming from the car. The temperature gauge shows nothing abnormal and no other warning lights on. It's too dark to check oil and water levels now but wondered if this is normal with a new car or if anyone else has experienced this? This has happened after a very short 10 minute journey on dual carriage ways and empty A roads. Also, in the last couple of days I am unable to do a smooth gear change. Even my husband as a passenger has noticed the gear stick clunking and struggling to find the right position. It was fine until a couple of days ago. Disappointed at having to take it in so soon and we have a very busy weekend ahead as we're away for our wedding anniversary. Any ideas anyone? Thanks
  5. Glad you like it, nice colour Enjoy your new baby x
  6. Yes it's the wrong colour but I've got it and its SO lovely to drive. Just gorgeous!! Over the moon. Those waiting....hang in there guys. So worth the wait!!! Ryan - read my past posts, that'll tell you what happened. After all that, at least I've got a new Octavia to drive. No one can persuade me I've chosen the wrong car, its just fantastic!!
  7. It was tempting, these long waits are agonising aren't they? Getting a bit nervous about driving it tomorrow. I am convincing myself I'll crash it. The start stop system will be weird at first I imagine.
  8. It isn't a courtesy car, its the car I should have had if it was the right colour. My finance will start on it and my payments and when the ordered one arrives, we swap cars and a new finance agreement starts. So in fact without the free park assist I'd have been out of pocket paying at least two extra finance payments.
  9. My replacement race blue has been ordered today and now with Park Assist by way of an apology. So another long wait starts like it did on 07/07/13 but at least I'll have a lovely new car to drive in the meantime which will make the wait easier to bear. Looking forward to collecting my temporary car tomorrow all the same.
  10. Saw it and its no race blue. Was offered a small amount of compensation but the money wouldn't get rid of the resentment I would feel towards it. It's a lovely colour in the sunshine but when it's cloudy it's bluh. So we're taking it until a racing blue one can be built as a brand new order. When the new one is built we hand this one back and start a new credit agreement. The upside is at least we can add park assist to the new order. We wanted to add park assist to this one but we were too late to change the order. We have been told to expect another 12 week wait. Has anyone heard of parking assist causing delays? Not happy but at least we get to drive a new car away on Friday and the interior is lush.
  11. You're right, its no race blue. It's dull and crap and I know I'll hate the car I want to love
  12. I was thinking this. The order form had written petrol blue on it as this was our initial choice but this was done on the Saturday and he said he would put the order through on the Monday. We phoned and added chrome rails and changed the colour. I was so glad I changed the colour as ive really fallen in love with race blue. We were told that would be fine. The chrome roof rails happened but the colour didn't. Currently having a 24 hr ECG test so not a good day to be connected to a mini heart monitor :(
  13. Mortified....dealer got order wrong, it's petrol blue. We ordered race blue. Close to tears. Having a look in a bit. Anyone else had this happen? Can we reject the car? Would I be able to stand another 12 week wait? Gutted :( :( :(
  14. It's a 2.0 TDI estate. We saw the same one in the same colour, but 1.6 version at the dealer on Sunday. Even in the pouring rain I think it was the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. My hubby's taken the afternoon off work to collect it and I've even booked my son into after school club so we can have a few uninterrupted hours with the gorgeous one!
  15. You think that's one up on me but I wouldn't like cruel teasing with such delayed gratification. Each to their own, it takes all sorts!!
  16. I won, I won!!!!! Sorry to show off but I'm drunk with excitement :-) As they say in these parts "pass me a cake out o't window"
  17. Woo hoo!!!!!! Friday is the golden day of excitement, wonder and car collection. Ordered 07/07/13 and built 29/08/13 and collection 20/09/13. So almost 12 weeks, just as the dealer said.
  18. Thanks guys Detailing World is gonna be my bed time reading tonight. Visited my dealer to sign the paperwork today, I now have my reg number and an indication that my car will be ready to collect on Friday. Beyond excited!!!
  19. Yes, I'm willing to use a lot of this. Just wary about scratching the paint work.
  20. I'm determined to keep my new Octy clean when it arrives. I never wash the outside of the car myself but this is something I want to start to do. What products and methods can you guys recommend? Also what is best used inside on the windows and dash? Thanks
  21. <3 your car and the colour. Thanks for the pics. Mine is that colour. Disappointed that mine was built four or five days before yours but isn't at the dealer yet.
  22. No clue about when it'll arrive. I'm in Lancashire, about 140 ish miles away. At least I can look at other Octavias on Sunday instead of my daily watch of car porn on YouTube
  23. Woo hoo!! That's brill. Where is your dealer...Grimsby? Mine arrived at Grimsby today but no idea how long it'll take. Dealer has asked us to go to sign finance papers on Sunday.
  24. Mine was built week 35 so dare I dream it is in the UK? I think it's the not knowing when we expect to get the car that's the hard thing. On the up side, the longer we wait, the later the payments start and the better deal I get on my guaranteed trade in figure.
