Hi all just a couple of questions, To start with my car is a 2008 Pre facelift Skoda Octavia VRS with the DPF removed and mapped (if that is needed) I think my external temperature sensor is faulty but the weird thing is when it hits -35 to -40 brrrrr its cold in summer my fuel gauge decides to turn off!!!!! could this be connected by any chance or do I have a problem with my fuel sensors too? Any advise would be appreciated on fixing these problems as cheap as possible Many thanks all Tom.

Right all. The time has come to change and do double din. I am thinking somethings on the lines of Pioneer AVIC-F80DAB or Kenwood DNX-5160DABS. I would like to fit Kenwood DNX516DABS but I am thinking £1000 is a little to much haha. My question is do people have picture of a double din stereo in the Octavia's??? mine is a 2008 pre FL vRS and at the moment I have this set up (See picture). Would I be able to use the surround I am currently using?? Many thanks Tom.

I just have an alpine aftermarket one in at the moment but want to change it to a more standard one but want the dab, sat nave a2dp and all the other stuff that's why I am thinking one of these

A while back I saw a post that had a lot of hype about some Chinese or after market stereos that did the lot and fitted really well in the octavia. Does anyone have the link to this post because I can't remember for the life of me what it was called. Thanks :-)

Right lets start this off. My car is the Amazing 2.0TDI VRs Octavia on an 08 plate which is the pre facelift :). It has become such an issue my aerial that I have just given up the fight and thought lets get this changed. My question to you guys and girls is has anyone done this? is it as easy as in screwing it, taking it out and replacing the new on and feeding the wires? Has anyone done a how to on this subject or even a video? My main concern is the roof lining and not being able to get it back correctly. Also which aerial do people recommend so I can start looking into getting this done asap?? Many thanks in advance Tom

As title states I think I need to get a leak off test done. Does anyone in here I the Nottinghamshire/Yorkshire area have the kit? Or does anyone know the best place to get this done? My car is the diesel vrs octavia 08 plate Many thanks

It's on I got supplied with the stereo when I got it. Normal radio is shocking too so think I need to change my external on so was thinking of getting a dab one too

I have an aftermarket pioneer stereo about 2 years old

Right I have had enough of having bad radio reception and DAB ia just shocking with my windscreen arial...... I think it is time to change my arial completly to something else. Does anyone recomend one like ashark fin or something? I am wanting it to be DAB at the same time so hopyfully that will help tith mt reception? I have a Mk2 VRS pre facelift Thank all Tom.

They squeak at the top and then chatter down. took them back to Halfords and they have no idea on what the problem is. I have no wax or anything on the windscreen. Please help people!!!!!

The time has come where I will be needing some roof bars :-( My question on you amazing people is this, Which ones do people recommend? I am wanting ones that don't whistle when I have nothing strapped to them because once they are on then they will not be coming off. I have looked at the whisper bars but unsure. Also are there universal bars for our cars and you just need to buy the brackets??? Many thanks Tom.

Where are you wiring these to??? if they are going to be DRL's then won't your fog lights be on too?

If it is like the pre facelift then only one will work. Hi all, I am wanting to change my Fog lights to LED ones but unsure which to go for. I need the H1 fitting as I found out today after getting some H11 ones GRRRRRR. Has anyone changed there's? I am wanting ones that will actually turn off and not stay on dim and also hopefully ones that won't bring up codes. Reason for the change is I have LED side lights and also 6k xenon so wanting the match. All views and comments welcome on this and also pictures of other VRS's with different colour fogs for comparison :-) Many thanks Tom.

Hi all, About a month ago I had my DPF regenerated and was told that it was down to 4%. Since then I have done a trip to brussels in my car so didnt think i should be having problems. Low and behold the dredded light keeps coming on again so when I had some VCDS upgrades done I had my DPF checked and these are the results :- 36.8% Particle filter load coefficient 42.53 Particle filter carbon mass -9.4% Carbon mass learned value My question is after all the talking I have done is has anyone taken a DPF off and cleaned it with a good old jet was? how easy is it to do? and finally doe anyone in the Sheffield/Nottingham or close to there fancy helping me with this? Thanks everyone for the replies. I went to the company I got mine from and got the non canbus modules and will get the VCDS done when change over very soon hopefully.

it would fit but you would need to buy the kit from skoda. Bolero units don't have DAB on them you need to be looking at the columbus I think but could be wrong.
