  1. Thanks for the info, I bought another second hand unit from a Fabia for my Ibiza Cupra, fitted it, turned off anti hijack and programmed the keys and it works absolutely fine. The issue is the alignment of the lock to the latch in the door, when anti hijack kicks in it doesn't remember the door is locked as the lock is slightly misaligned, and so it send the signal over and over again to lock and unlock. This caused the relay in the CCM to overheat and melt repeatedly.
  2. I know this is an old thread and an old topic but I have a Seat Ibiza Cupra TDI with a very similar problem currently. Driving along all my door locks started locking and unlocking randomly and I had smoke coming from the dash, my CCM had fully melted. I bought a new one for 400 and the garage stripped the whole dash and fitted it, tested the car and the new one melted when the anti hijack kicked in. What is this corrupt cable you mention and how did you fix it? My car has now been off the road 9 weeks and costing me a fortune as I'll now have to buy another new CCM!
  3. It was also very odd with the side/light fog light, if I wiggled it about the brighter filament would come on as the sidelight and the less bright one would then operate as the brake light. Yeh they all looked to be the correct bulbs, the brake light bulbs I put in the other day for some reason didn't work (maybe just age as I've had them a while, but the filament looked fine), so the fresh ones today did the job. I made sure the side/fog was a P21/W4, NOT W5 like Halfords and most websites seem to think. Another odd thing was the third brake light in the spoiler came on as a sidelight as well for a bit. Me thinks something weird is going on with the wires somewhere, anyway, all working... for now.
  4. Just to let you know I have sorted it! I replaced the sidelight/fog light bulb and both brake light bulbs and now everything works as it should. The fog light/side light must somehow act as an emergency brake light when the brake lights don't work. Not sure why you have to put side light/fog light bulbs in both sides even though there's only 1 fog light?
  5. Not that I can tell, she’s had the car for about 6 years now, I just assumed they were all working fine, it’s never failed an MOT on them, but then after looking online I realised they don’t work how they should! First time a brake light has gone so first time I’ve had a look really.
  6. Hi all, not been on here for ages so apologies if this is a know issue or something that is always posted about. My girlfriend has a Fabia Bohemia estate and currently has a brake light out. Upon investigating earlier I cannot for the life of me work out the way these rear lights work. According to what I’ve read online it should go: top light brake lights, then indicators, then reverse, then side/fog lights. However hers have never worked like that, and still don’t. The way hers work are: top lights: nothing! Indicators ( work fine) reverse (work fine) then brake and side light in one, and also fog, if you switch the fog on, the right brake light doesn’t work (basically the brake light becomes the fog light). I’ve tried everything, I can’t get the top lights to do anything, I can’t understand why the brakes are operating what are supposed to be fog lights whilst working as fog lights as well. I know this probably sounds confusing, that’s because it is! Fuses are fine, and brake switch must be fine as they work, just on the wrong bulb! Help!
  7. My girlfriend got her Fabia estate the other day and is having the same issue. Going to the garage Monday as got 3 month warranty so hopefully will get sorted. Did you ever get sorted out?
  8. Hi all, second post of the day, again apologies if this is a daft question. My girlfriend wants a dog guard for her new Fabia Bohemia, now I know there is a Fabia dog guard, but will it fit in the estate version? Are the dimensions the same? I read the Fabia one clips in to parcel shelf, trouble is the estate has one of them pull over parcel shelf things, like a blind, so not sure if the clips that the normal one has are there? Anyone know?! This is the one I was looking at http://www.skodaparts.com/product/fabia-dog-guard-restraint-hatch-2000-2007-24831
  9. Thanks for the reply, could you elaborate when you say it has limited means to select tracks and artists?
  10. Hi all, I am new here, posting on behalf of my girlfriend who just bought a 1.4 TDI Fabia Bohemia yesterday. Very nice car and plenty of room for our dogs :p Apologies for the noob question, I have searched buut can't find a definitive answer. She is after a way to play her ipod through the oem symphony radio in the car. I have been reading on here about the Dension gateway 100 which is/was the same as the genuine VAG cable, but then I saw a few mentions of the connects2 system. I have found this on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Connects2-CTASKIPOD003-2-Interface-Adaptor-Roomster/dp/B005CW4VIS and wondered if anyone knows if this will work. She is wanting to put the ipod in the glove box and be able to skip tracks with the HU. Would this work for all the above? Thanks :p
  11. Hi all, my name is Michael, I am 28 from Nottingham and I drive a Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.9TDI PD160. Constantly hearing references to this site on SeatCupra.net and thought I would join the party. Probably won't post a lot but am sure I can get some modification inspiration from some of the Fabia owners on here This is my "readers ride" thread on SeatCupra.net with plenty of pics of my car http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=375917
