  1. No problem, wasnt even watching the programme,I just glanced up and saw It and thought I recognise the car so got the wife to rewind it and thought i’d Let you know πŸ‘πŸ»
  2. Just checked sky and the programme was series 5 episode 3 and your car appears about 37mins into the episode and it’s parked outside capital house πŸ‘πŸ»
  3. Don't know if you already know but I spotted your car on an episode of rich house poor house last night. Parked outside a building
  4. Liking the shortened recess chief
  5. Cheers bud and your chances of spotting it will be slim as it rarely ventures out as I'm in my van all week so it gets occasional weekend use and that's all,it's another drive ornament like the octy was lol
  6. Like where it's going shortened plate recess will look good too.
  7. Alright Si, Not really been up to much with it really, just enjoying it Had it serviced a few months back and it sailed through it mot without any advisories which was good Fitted some larger spacers and illuminated sill plates and that's about it Here's a few pics Going to hopefully get the console and seat backs painted over winter.
  8. Look good in white but there a bitch to keep clean lol
  9. That's fine Rob,I can take criticism without getting defensive,so it's all good
  10. Thanks for the comments guys it's appreciated
  11. Well the tires turned up yesterday so got the wife to drop the tires and wheels off with my mate and he put them on and balanced them up for me and then put them on the car after work. So took it up the road and got a couple of pics Rears ended up been slightly stretched which wasn't the plan but I've bought them now so they will have to do,need to space them a bit too.
  12. So on Thursday I received my wheel centres back from my mate, was a bit of a shock to see him at the front door with them in his hands as I half expected him to take weeks to do them lol Here's the centres after receiving them So as I had them back I knew that I had to get cracking at the weekend so had to clean up 160 bolts for the rims using a little wire brush attachment for the dremmel which was a tedious task lol then had to sand out some kerbing marks left on the lips by the missus and then flat and re polish the lips, didn't go to town on them as I'm not really into polishing and after the long job of cleaning the bolts then I was losing interest so gave them a light flat ting and then just stuck a polishing head in the drill and whacked on loads of autosol and got them buffed up,they have come out ok for me,there still marked and pitted but it's no show car, just wanted to get them built up Here they are Just need to order some tires now and get them on the car then I can see how they sit and measure up for spacers
  13. Thanks kentphil1,it was sad to let it go but I knew deep down that it would never end up back on the road and would just sit on the garden deteriorating over time, glad you like the new project too Cheers Rob,I thought it would be with me forever too and if I'd never gone down the stripped out interior route then it could of still been in use today as it was only the fact of having no back seat etc that made it impractical so just always had to use the wife's car instead and it was strange watching it drive away on a trailer and knowing it would never return :( Cheers for the kind comments and enthusiasm for my build over the years Si,it's been appreciated
  14. I hadn't thought much about selling or breaking it,it was on the cards but didn't know when it would happen,I received a pm initially and it went from there, hope he has fun with it like I did And thanks for the comment on the new project too
  15. So the cats out of the bag so to speak lol,yes the octavia has gone to a new home but it was going to happen eventually But currently no updates on the porsche, still waiting on the wheel centres as he's not the fastest worker but to be fair I'm still part way through polishing the lips so need to get a move on and then decide what tires and what sizes I'm going to use but will update once there's some progress
  16. So this is not an update,it's an end of the line sign off from me last night a forum member came and bought the octy and took it away(eventually as it was a bit of a chore getting the wide boy on the trailer lol) I assume from a comment earlier on my new build thread by simon that the person in question has identified himself as the new owner on Facebook but as I don't go on there then I haven't seen anything, but will leave it to him to say in case he hasn't told everyone. Anyway the car has sat in my back garden and not really been used over the last few years and since going into the extreme mode in matt black it only ventured out about 2 or 3 times and then never even went on the road whilst it was all white or finally the wrc wannabe look.i only changed it white and then put the stickers on as I just wanted to see how it would of looked just so I had no regrets before getting rid and I never really had any plans to put it on the road because like I've said before I had no use for it. I originally wanted to break it as I felt that would fetch the most cash but I never really had the time or even the heart to start pulling it to bits but on the other hand I didn't want to sell complete because the car ain't great up close, has no mot,has a few issues and a lot of irreversible mods but the buyer was adamant that he wasn't bothered and wanted to take it complete so that's what happened,he has told me he wants to tidy and fix it up and do his own thing to it and if that's what he wants to do then I'm happy with that and will look forward to seeing what happens with it but even if he decides it's not for him and he just wants to break it for bits then I'm happy with that also As far as I'm concerned it has been the best car I have ever owned and have had a great 13 years with it and enjoyed taking it through all the different stages it's been through. Thanks to all those that have helped out and advised over the years and for all the positive and negative comments about it over the different stages of it's life,it's been an epic journey and unfortunately it's come to an end but onwards and upwards as they say, plus I have my new project in my life so it's all good. I will still be active on the forum but not as much, but will pop on to update my new project thread for those interested and will still browse the octavia section as I still think there a great car, plus it's good to see what other people do to their cars So farewell guys and gals,it's been emotional lol
  17. So over the last couple of days I've replaced all the interior light bulbs with led's Also changed sidelights and number plate lights to led. Got it machine polished by a mate And collected the wheel centres back from the same guy and had them acid dipped as he said he would prefer a blank canvas so to speak as they had been painted a few times over the years and was a bit thick I've dropped them back off with him now and hopefully it won't take him to long to paint them as I'm looking forward to building them back up and getting them on the car
  18. That was what mine was like, people thought it looked mint on pics but was far from it in reality but couldn't justify throwing money into a paint job so that's why the rattle cans came out lol Glad you've got the motivation back to carry on with it though
  19. don't see him giving it up that easy lol But thanks for the kind comment,it's appreciated
  20. Cheers guys and your right Mike,my friend Giles car looks spot on and the aero kit really makes a pretty bland looking car look much more aggressive I will definitely get the parts at some point in the future but won't be for a good while yet as the bumpers, skirts and especially the spoiler are pretty pricey parts and even used parts are big money so for now I'll have to live without the kit.
  21. Cheers Paul It's got some small temporary spacers which I had lying around, there 5mm front and 7mm rears but there not hub centric but it looks a bit better for now.
  22. Cheers Paul Yes I'm glad the arch gap is gone now, still needs a bit of tweaking but I've lifted the rear a bit. Had the alignment done and it feels better but you can't get them bang on spec once you lower them but it's no biggie as it will never see a track whilst I own it Gave it a wash today so thought I'd get a few pics,so let the pic whoring commence Hopefully get the machine polish done next week as I have the week off,as does my mate so fingers crossed we can get it sorted.
