  1. Thanks Xpower, thats a great help. I will get amongst it this weekend now.
  2. Hi, just wondering if anybody has taken headlights out and put new ones in. If so how did you do it? I need to take my Continental headlights out as I am part exchanging the car for a newer one. It doesn't have tourist mode like the Bi-Xenon so I had the lights fitted by Skoda, it was expensive so I thought I'd try and take them out myself.
  3. Cheers Matty, maybe next time I'll get the VRS. Perhaps I should put my order in 6 months beforehand To be fair I quite like the standard kit that comes with the Elegance; Cruise, Amundsen, Variable boot floor...
  4. No coincidence there mate. I also own an Elegance and paid around the 100 bucks mark. Looks like VRS owners and those with LED's at the back are managing to get the coding done rather than cable/hard wiring.
  5. It was approximately 100 Euros for the rear fog to be hard wired (I think that is what they have done!). I had the front halogen headlights changed and rear fog hard wired at the same time. Total cost 400 Euros. The front headlights bought and fitted at the dealer were approximately 300 Euros.
  6. Not sure about that Nipani. Mine was a trip to the dealer to set both fogs to light up but I haven't got Xenons (which have tourist mode for the front headlights). Not sure if Xenons affect the rear fog. Hope this helps.
  7. David, mine charges and plays music via the USB and also plays via bluetooth. I have the elegance estate mk3. Yours should be able to do this too. Is it worth making some more enquiries with the dealer/techs?

  9. Thanks guys. Looks like I'm going to have to shell out the moolah. Hopefully as you say Richie, it will save people money in the future. Cheers silver1011, I thought just as much. I have a feeling it can be done by computer but my local dealer said it can't and wants to fit a cable.
  10. Thanks. Yes, I contacted my local dealer (German) and the master mechanic had said it needs a new cable fitted, quoted about €100. A friend who has a mk2 VRS Blackline said the same dealer did his fog by computer at a cost of €40. So I'm feeling a little bit confused as I would have thought the mk3 was capable of this also? Tourist mode? Is that available on non-xenon models? I havent been made aware of this and can't say I have noticed it. Will have a look into it. The car is booked in tomorrow for a headlight change over from uk to continental as the dealer has informed me they are not flat beam-able. Thanks for the advice, any help is greatly appreciated
  11. anyone any idea how to go about swapping the rear for from left to right for driving on the continent?
  12. Anyone any idea how to go about swapping the rear for light from right to left for driving on the continent? I am working abroad in Germany and it is a legal requirement to have the rear fog on the left. Currently mine lights on the right. Is this something which can be done myself or is it a specialist area? Any help much appreciated ;0
