  1. Thanks SurreyJohn, I take it that it's just glued on like the letters on the boot?
  2. Hi, I'm taking delivery of a new Fabia Monte Carlo around March time and like the all black badges on this particular model. However, I notice that the bonnet badge is still the same chrome one as on all other models (why, Skoda, why)? I plan on replacing it with an all black version, plenty showing on eBay, but have never done this before. Can anyone give a general guide (i.e. pry off with a plastic tool? Heat up to remove glue? Access from under the bonnet? etc etc). Also, what is the diameter - I've seen both 80mm and 90mm for sale - any ideas of what size the current Fabia is running? Thanks in advance, I'd be most grateful for any help.
  3. A very very light modification - Frenchy Foglights!
  4. It took about 10 days for mine. The collection took almost an hour as he gave it a very detailed inspection on my drive and recorded everything to computer. I terminated about three weeks early so that I could get a new Citigo before the Tax threshold changed in April. However, despite the dealer telling me it wouldn't affect my credit rating it did. Not massively but there has been a record placed on it and it has affected my score detrimentally. Something to be aware of...
  5. My 2017 Colour Edition after a nice Sunday polish. The new paintwork came up well!
  6. That's right, I know through an accident my wife had some years ago that she had to note it as a "no fault" claim on her insurance renewals for 5 years! The only reason they ask you is because it affects your premium, regardless of blame. As this is my first accident without any no claims discount, I don't know if this first year would not qualify me for one if it was another drivers fault? The other driver has now came back and said that their excess "is huge" and so will pay for the damage personally (if the other car had no damage, do they still have to fund the first £xxx of my bill)? As was said by LGM, if the insurance company don't know about it then it never happened! I'll get an assessment and quote from the dealer and send it to them, hopefully all will be well....
  7. Just had someone go into the back of me today at a junction. Low speed collision, no one injured and only a small amount of paintwork damage to my car (hairline paint cracks about the size of a 5p). The other driver was at fault and admitted it, swapped insurance details etc. However, she said that she may just pay for it depending on what the quote is. My dilemma is whether I should contact my insurance company about it at this stage or to drive around and get a quote? It's my first year of owning this car and I have zero no claims discount, very disappointed that an accident has happened as I would need to declare it for the next 3-5 years. If it's a "No fault" claim, will I still accrue a no claim discount at renewal time? Any advice appreciated….
  8. Same issues as ever, dropping connection for first 5 mins of use and still not remembering SD settings after switching off.
  9. Before the update the pid began to play music from whatever source (CD, SD or radio) was last used when it was turned off. Now, if that source was music from the SD card, it displays the album art but won't play music, even when I press play, next, previous etc. It just hangs. The only way it will begin playing from the SD card again is to select another source (radio or CD), let this begin playing through the speakers, then go back and select SD again. What a hastle! Also, I usually have the SD card on random play and it used to remember this setting when turned off. Now it doesn't so I have to go back into the menus and reprogram the shuffle setting. Pain in the neck all because some numpty programmed it wrong, it worked before so is simply but annoyingly a software problem.
  10. Yes, this "update" is bloody annoying! My Garmin pid worked perfectly well until I updated it. Mine too now forgets where it was when taken off the mount and will only play music from the SD card when you select either the radio or CD then go back to SD. Bizzare. The Bluetooth connection cuts in and out for the first 5 mins too. The amount of selections that now has to be made just to get the thing going will cause an accident, I'm sure. Turned a great little device into rubbish. Bring on another update! By the way, you can't return to factory settings as Fresh will not let you download any nav maps without first updating the firmware to this nasty version.
  11. Well, I upgraded to the new firmware a few days ago and all appeared well on the first outing. I had been troubled by the speed camera voice readjusting it's volume mid-sentence. It used to shout "BEWARE!" then much quieter (at the volume I had set) "…watch your speed". The update sorted that straightaway so I was pleased. However, there are more problems than before, ones which are really annoying. My bluetooth connection comes on a few seconds after starting the ignition but it drops immediately. It then appears and disappears for the first 5 minutes of the journey so I can't listen to my podcasts from my iPhone. As my journey to work is only 10-15 minutes I spend almost as much time waiting for the connection to stop dropping as I do travelling. Also, I have my music stored on SD card set to random play. Now, when I switch to SD card the last song played is displayed but won't begin playing, the thing just hangs. I have to select the CD, let it begin playing, then reselect the SD card and it will then play music. Unfortunately it will only play the album it stuck on - I have to delve into the file structure to take it back to the master file with all the music on it before it will shuffle along again. This happens EVERY TIME I switch it on! Obviously, to go through all that I need to be stationary in the car, it's not something you can do while driving and it's a real pain in the neck. I've looked at the Garmin website for support but none of the drop down lists show the Skoda PID. The Navigon website doesn't show much more and simply says that if the unit isn't working properly to do a reset and download the latest software! I've put it back to factory settings but FRESH won't let me download any maps without first re-updating the firmware. Anyone any ideas - I feel like handing the car back!
  12. I have the Entertainment pack too and, to be honest, the sound isn't that great. It may be the speakers but there is a distinct lack of middle. The stereo is loud enough but the adjustments for bass and treble really just give you an "all or nothing" setting for each. I mostly listen to rock music so others may have a different opinion but I do find myself constantly fiddling with the settings between tracks trying to get a good sound which I have never found yet. Music is from CD, MP3 and bluetooth and I find each source to have the same problem (which is why I think it's poor quality speakers rather than listening to compressed or streamed music sources).
  13. I use a Nintendo DS case, exact same size and can be picked up for a couple of quid at Game or other video game stores.
  14. Hi, I've just bought a cheap set of mats from Euro Car Parts which, at £7 a set of 4 will do me nicely for the winter. However, whilst they are a good fit and match, the drivers side do not have any clips. Does anyone know what the clips/poppers are that I need to but in order to fasten down the mats if I was to press some holes in them? Are they available on eBay or only through dealers? Any links would be much appreciated (this forum rocks) and thank you in anticipation of responses.
  15. Thanks for all the replies, it appears to be confirmed now that there is no DAB as standard. Thanks everyone (clicks browser for Amazon to buy a 32gb card to fill with metal tunes)....
  16. Hi, First post to this forum, Citigo ordered in late July and build date scheduled for tomorrow (16th Sept) (SE with Entertainment pack, sunset glass and PID thrown in for free)! I've read the PDF manual for the PID https://mediaportal.skoda-auto.com/resource/documentation/manuals/en/Citigo/05-2012/Manual/A00_Citigo_OwnersManual.pdf) and it appears to mention DAB radio but doesn't go into any detail. Can you get DAB radio on the PID? Can I look forward to the glorious sound of Planet Rock on my commute????
