I agree. Used this on all my cars and had no problems with the leather changing shades etc. Good stuff.

I got to agree. My car is coming upto 24K and I've never owned a car with more rattles than the Vrs. Bad points rear brakes grind and squeek and have done so since day one. Parcel shelf and surrounds rattle more than a geriatric on a fair ground ride. Dashboard plus glovebox rattle, engine vibration at 1500 rpm when acelerating. Thin paint leading to bonnet looking like it's been hit by shrapnell. Plus the fact it's been at the dealers 6 times this year for warranty issues makes me agree that the Fab is not what it once seemed. Solution: car now sold and purchased a SEAT. Hope I have better look with this one.

Forgot to say that this is an excellent forum with some fantastic contributors and I will keep popping back from time to time. Keep up the good work and when I am struggling up a hill in the 1.6 I'll have fond memories of ripping up rep mobiles in the little Vrs:thumbup: .

After nearly two years with the Furby it's now time to go. Have stayed in the VAG stable and have gone for an Altea Stylance. Needed more space plus the fact the Skoda has been in the dealers 6 times this year for warranty work has just been too much. The new car is much more modern in design and is massively specced for the price. My new car has cruise, ipod, powered mirrors, heated seats, duel climate, electric sunroof, rear parking sensors (for the wife) rear electric windows etc etc. The only downsize is the engine as I only commute 12 miles a day we opted for the 1.6 petrol. Seems quite nippy but is obviously not as powerful.

Yep I use them for work. Not too shabby. Always late when picking me up though so allow for plenty of time for that.

Had the same problem. Basically the hex nuts had sheared so I had a new seat base replaced under warranty. What a nightmare this was. The idiot who took it out damged the door sill (7 inch scrape down to the metal) plus the drivers door trim. Then the new base went back in the wrong place and had to be total realinged so the carpet had to come out etc etc. Sorry mate but I hope you have more look than I did.

Had the misfortune of having this beast for a weekend whilst on business in Birmingham. Plus points for this car are the obvious amonts of space and high visability plus I could actually make buses wait and let me into the right lane. Minuses well basically the interior is gross and well behind modern european standards. The 2.8 turbo diesel is noisy and crude and mated to a four speed gearbox is a match made in hell. I managed 27mpg at a cruise control set 70mph which was as good as it got. Basically for £31K don't buy this buy a 10 year old coach and enjoy more space (just) and better performance.

A friend of mine has an Octavia 4x4 estate in this colour. When washed it looks really smart but dirty looks quite dull. Would I buy a car in this colour probably yes espc. if it's at the right price. Good luck.

Oh shucks was going to trade it in for a DB9 next year. Oh well will have to work harder:thumbup:

Interestingly speaking with Mr Keith of D M Keith the other day we were discussing my Fabia Vrs which he say's will start increasing in value now all the run out SE's have sold and because there will not be a New MK11 Vrs!. Not for a long while yet he recon's.

Got to say this garage is clueless. Managed to badly damage my car whilst it had a seat based replaced under warranty and then tried to deny all knowledge. I would not recommend this rabble to my worst enemy and as such badly put me off the brand. Spend your money here and you are making a mistake!.

Excellent photo's. Couldn't attend being on holiday but I understand this is going to be a regular event. I hope it takes off. The Audi was my favourite rally car in the 80's but my god that 6R4 was one hell of a motor (bloody loud too).

It's quite alarming how much it does move. Thanks will tighten up and hopefully the vibration will disappear.

Mine seems to be quite loose after it's return from a service. I can move the engine cover quite alot and I wondered if this is cause of a rattle, vibration at 1500-1800 rpm?. How tight should the cover be when in place ie: should it move up and down to allow for movement from the engine or should it be tightly screwed in place?. Thought i'd ask before comencing tighten of screw. Thanks.

Nice motor. Fiat really seem to be making great looking cars nowadays. Has your car got leather or is it on the options list. The Punto is a great looking car but I am still unsure of the image and residuals. Mind you 5 years ago I would not have bought a Skoda so times are a changing. Also how much is it for service as opposed to Skoda?.

Just returned from Florida and had a VW Beetle as our hire car. Arrived at Alamo to be told the Soft tops are round the corner and to pick any car we fancied. Cool I thought Mustage here we come. The wife fell in love with the Beetle' straight away and me being too soft for my own good caved in. First impressions OMG there is no boot what so ever (OK you can fit three large shopping bags full of stuff in). So lowered the roof and put cases on rear seats, no problem for two. The car was a 6 speed automatic and had a 2.5 V5 under the bonnet. Quite nippy but very lazy gearing made for stready rather than rapid progress. Fuel economy suprisingly good and the car suffered very little scruttle shake. Usual VW build quality. Overall would I buy one. No not for your only car but as a second car it's a cute, safe place to be. By the way Florida rocks.

I thought about purchasing one but choose the fab Vrs for a number of reasons. The bm is just too small inside with a small boot area that could not fit two sets of golf clubs in never mind trolleys shoes etc. I am 5.11" and banged my head getting into the drivers seat and also got my legs stuck getting out of the rear of the car. I wanted Derv so looked at the 118d M with leather to be quoted a price of

Hi, just purchased a new set of Ferodo tyres and the road noise is really noticable over the Conti's. It's now starting to bug me and as the tyres are as new should I return to ATS, and ask for an upgarde and pay the difference for a pair of Conti's which were fine. Is this something I could do as I have no experience of doing this sort of thing and wondered if anybody else has had a similar experience?. The noise get's louder at 45-50mph on a smooth road and sounds like a warbling sound. At first I thought the tyres had not been balanced, it gives that sort of impression but the wheel has no vibration or anything. Thanks.

Gordon your car has exactly the same problems as mine and I use the same dealer who did not loose my service book but did damage the plastic door trim and scratch the body work when repairing the seat base. P.s the car is now nicknamed the vibrator!

Any joy did you source the rattle?.

Correct Chris and the fact that the service pricing is on a par with prestigious manufacturers makes the ownership package not as desirable as expected. The two bug bears with this car are the rattles and the grinding rear brakes. Skoda better sort this for the new Vrs or my monies off to another stealer.

Unfortunately for Skoda the competition has really increased in the warm hatch/hot hatch department since it's launch. People say that French car's are badly built and don't touch them with a barge post but in my experience this car has now gone beyond what I expect to be good build quality. I accept that for the money the Vrs is excellent value for money but this been my first Skoda vehicle has left me a little disappointed with the overall package. I like the brand and the slighly up your's attitude but this car got raving review's from all department's and has failed on a number of fronts. Maybe I should have bought a 2 year old Audi tdi and enjoyed the great performance and the legendary build quality as well.
