  1. That's fine, I just do not value the things you mention. I have never felt the need to transfer music by bluetooth, either with my iPhone of my S3. What I do value however is reliability, and neither iPhone I have owned has ever frozen or had a function mysteriously stop working. Both things are quite frequent with the S3. Also many things such as setting up wifi connections etc have proven to be simpler and quicker in iOS. The iOS apps are also generally more reliable and still have a better selection, with the app store much easier to find things in than Google Play. I would however welcome a larger screen. At the end of the day, it is what you are moct comfortable with and while I prefer iOS I still would have an Android as my second phone rather than two ones the same.
  2. You will regret it. there is a lot more to a phone than the specs and despite large screens and loads of gimics on Android phones, the iPhone beats them hands down as a device to use and live with.
  3. Nothing wrong with that. Without human sex trafficing we would still be stuck with the middled aged english druggy prostitutes rather than the beautiful eastern european girls readily available now for hire.
  4. LOL, I wish I was paying 41 Euro per week on fuel. I am paying about £70 per week!
  5. Where is the Rapid built? I would not buy a Yeti because I want nothing to do with Chinese cars.
  6. I will no longer buy diesel cars despite doing around 20K miles per year. I had three in a row and everyone was trouble, with the DMF being the biggest headache. Considering how much more expensive they are to buy and how much more expensive diesel is I just do not think the better mpg is a good enough reason to go diesel. Saying tha I just can't bring myself to see the point of the Rapid. Yes it is relatively cheap, but not enough so to justify the huge reduction in interior quality and design and driving dynamics from the very similar looking Octavia. I think Skoda would have done better to have continued the Octy 2 along side the 3 as the entry level/bargain option, as it was a much better car than the Rapid.
  7. I have my iPhone 5S on EE's 4G network and it is brilliant. I always had a very weal 2G signal in my house but I have a 4 bar 4G signal now. In belfast the 4G internet speed is faster than my BT infinity broadband at home (in the case of uploads much much faster). I was surprised to find that the 4G in the centre of London was only about 25% as fast as it is in the centre of Belfast and half as quick as in my rural villiage!.
  8. That is exactly what the dealer found, it was a stone wedge in the front breaks. It had scored the disk.
  9. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and an iPhone 5S (previously had the S3 paired with the 4S). To be honest despite the iPhone screen being so small I prefer it hands down over the S3, and so I have no intention of upgrading the S3 for another Samsung Android. I will probably give a Nokia Windows phone a try (like to have to completely different hand sets).
  10. I bought myself a Nikon D3100 (with 28-55mm) and a Tamron 70-300mm lens at the end of January. Despite it being the now twice updated entry level Nikon and used with cheap lens, I have managed to get some fantastic photos compared with what I ever managed with my bridge camera. Shame is I can't figure how to post photos properly on here in they way others do (see Yosmite thread).
  11. It was not the engine, which continued to run, there were no noises when running in neutral. Fairly sure it is the gear box or clutch, but the noise was so alarming I really did not want to keep the car running. The RAC were of the same opinion.
  12. Luckily I have not had to deal with Job Centres for many years, as I have been in constant employment since I finished my PhD. I was however on Job seekers for a couple of months between finishing my BSc and starting the PhD. I always felt like I was not treated as a human at the job centre, and then to add insult to injury some months after I had signed off to start my PhD I got a call from the benefits people making out that they wanted to carry oput a survey and asking to meet me. It turned out that they were investigating me for benefit fraud! The reason being that during the period I was signing on the IRA fire bombed a big furniture shop which was located down a hill from where I lived. I filmed the fire and fire fighters efforts with my camcorder. The next day I phoned the local TV company (UTV) and offered them the tape which they accepted and showed on the news. I never asked for money, nor was told I would receive money. However about 3 months later I got a cheque from UTV for £50. Some how the benefits people found out about this payment which the TV company had listed as an artiste fee and decided I had been working while claiming. Needless to say that was bull as even if I had known they would pay, how is selling something against dole rules and secondly I did not get any money until some time after I was off the benefit. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth about he flunkies who run the benefits system.
  13. You probably already have bought your camera, but the Nikon D3100 is a great starter DSLR and new it costs less tha £300 so I am sure you could get a used one for less than £200.
  14. It was rather colder when I visted Yosimite back in Feb 2011!
  15. After just about 6 montha and 5120 miles my Citigo broke down yesterday with a horrible metallic grinding, accompanied by squealing and rattling noises. This happened on the M2 into Belfast. Had to wait for some time for the RAC to pick it up, and now it is back with the dealer, and I am stuck in a basic SE model. I wonder what has gone wrong.
  16. I don't know, while I prefer iOS, I like Android well enough on my Galaxy S3 phone, but just do not enjoy using it on my Galaxy Tab.
  17. Yes the Tesco tablet looks ok, but has the draw back of being Android. Android really is a miserable OS for tablets.
  18. £16 is a lot for a puncture repair. We got a puncture the day after we got our Citigo (we did have a spare), and it only cost £5 for a repair!
  19. As has been said, it is a small tank, but we are getting far better mpg than I ever have managed with any of the diesel cars I have owned, which averaged aroung 42-44mpg, while we are average in the high 50s with our citigo.
  20. I would be suspicious of the servicing. I get cars serviced, but every time I do I can't help think that sometimes you are better leaving a machine well alone that is working as any tinkering can cause problems.
  21. You need to see and drive both. You have posted in the Rapid section and I think the answers so far have been a little biased. The Octy 2 is a much nicer car inside and some people have complained about how uncomfortable the ride quality of the Rapid is (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/285578-tyre-advice-please/). Personally as you are looking to go used I would opt for the Octavia any day of the week.
  22. Sorry to hear about your PID problem. The dealer should have noticed this when inspecting the car. My dealer had everything set up and working, including the PID when we collected our Citigo. The problem I find is that it is quite difficult to get the PID to click unto the mount. No problem with the mount connecting to the dash.
  23. Nice pictures. When I was in Yosemite, you could hardly see the roads for the snow.
  24. France is much better for driving than England. Drove from Belfast to Paris and back, and it was like night v day comparing the congested slow English W-ways with the French versions. However my best driving experience has to be the uAE (Dubai etc). Great roads, great deserts and slow vehicles such as buses and lorries not allowed on the road except for the middle of the night.
