So, an update, if you are after a stereo with Android, DAB, SAT NAV, bluetooth and everything else you could ever want then this is the device. No, im not on commission but I am just VERY happy with this,
-
Finally have a review for you all.
-
Another issue I have had is that the front facing camera they sell that works with this device is not compatible with windows 8, im trying to find a solution from them at the moment.

Sorry for the delay, it isnt cheap but it takes away the worry of purchasing a stereo from China. Although these are chinese made you have the benefit of having a German company that offers the warranty on the device. Im hoping to post a full review on the device soon. The only issues I have found so far is that maps dont cover the UK, so had to download my own sat nav software, so if you have to pay extra for the sat nav software, dont. they wont work here. cheers

Not sure if you can imbed the video clips here but here is the v800 installed, starting with the custom boot animation

Coleburg replied to Coleburg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Went to the Skoda dealer, they ordered in the wrong one, even though they used my reg number lol, ended up ordering one from superskoda.com so fingers crossed it will be correct this time. -

Thanks for the reply, I had already seen that thread and was concerned that the middle dial is square whereas mine is round, can that whole section be swapped with mine (ie the black part of it so i keep my round dials)? -
I have got a new stereo which is the same dimensions and shape as the columbus, I am trying to fit this into a 2010 which currenly houses the bolero but im finding it very hard to find a frame that will allow me to. I have attached an image of my existing frame could you please point me in the direction of how i can get a columbus in without spending a fortune on a frame. thanks

Parking Sensors with Aftermarket Stereo
Coleburg replied to Coleburg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have been in touch with icar-tech and have been told that the following device works perfectly with Skoda / canbus / parking sensors, I have just made the purchase and will let you know how it goes. http://www.icar-tech.de/html/products_v800.php -
I have just bought one of these http://www.icar-tech.de/html/products_v800.php it has absolutely everything I could ever want in a stereo as a, its not from china, b, the germans dont make anything bad, and c, its the only one I could find with DAB. As I have been unable to find an English speaking video, I will be posting a recording once installed and posting it on here for you all to see. Looks great on paper, just looking forward to it being installed :-)

Parking Sensors with Aftermarket Stereo
Coleburg replied to Coleburg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Ryan-re, would a stereo mention 'Vag Canbus' compatible? I have seen an amazing Android stereo so if I can get just the beep to work I would be happy. thanks -
Parking Sensors with Aftermarket Stereo
Coleburg posted a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
At the moment I have the Bolero in my Octavia and as it hasn't got Bluetooth, I thought it would be an idea to grab myself an aftermarket stereo. My question is, will my front and rear parking sensors work with new double din stereos out there ie the display on screen? as the local company near me are saying only 1 very expensive model of stereo that they are selling will. Please help thanks
