  1. That is not the number you need to look at. It is very difficult. You need a mirror, or put your iphone or smarphone in there and take a picture. It took me some time to find it... 3 year warranty? We only get 2 years of warranty. I might remap just to provoke the turbo to see if it fails in the warranty period
  2. Indeed, sorry for that. It seems it mostly startet with the R and Cupra and S3. And than the A3 with the 2.0T and built between a short amound of time. Maybe our VRS's are ok. Let's hope so
  3. Indeed, I have seen it at the dealer last tuesday. It is a very nice looking color. Almost regretting my race blue. But hey, it was no option 1 year ago. It does look great with the Gemini anthracite alloys on an RS.
  4. It is not the RS cupras and the S3. It is the IHI turbo. MQB 2.0T is our car
  5. Hi guys, I am just reading about this. Seems like a lot of turbo's are failing on the GTI and audi MQB A3 2.0T. Our Octavia RS TSI is also one of those. There seems to be a lot of talk on the forum of VW and audi. Have not seen anyting on skoda forum's about this so I would like to inform you guys. Seems there are 4 Turbo revisions for our car. And the 4th one seems to be ok. That is why Audi and VW have or a recall or an extended waranty on the turbo's from now on. I have revision 2. I am going to contact my skoda dealer to know if they are aware of it and what Skoda is doing... here some more info http://www.vwgticlub.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?p=290447&sid=cba6b061a0dfb39dd185b41f11768fa5 "Here are the turbo part numbers that fail from the factory on unmodified cars: 06K 145 702 K - Revision 1 06K 145 702 Q - Revision 2 06K 145 702 R - Revision 3 New turbo part number to fix failures: 06K 145 702 T - Revision 4"
  6. I checked the oil level again this morning, and it was on the low side ( yesterday was with a hot engine). I added an extra half a liter. Did not drive yet, but I hope that was the problem. The journey home is planned on wednesday, no long trips before that..
  7. Mine also. That is why I am asking and thinking there might be a problem
  8. Oil level is ok (maybe a bit too much so it seems). Cooling liquid level above min level.
  9. Hi Guys. I am currently in France. And today i had this strange thing where the oil And cooling temperature never went above 85 degrees. Normaly, cooling temp. Is fixed at 90 °c And oil temp. Around 100°c. I had the aircon on and the outside temperature was 25°c. Is there a problem? I tried to contact my dealer but he is on holiday for 2 weeks so it seems.
  10. Ryan, i just had the info that it had a build week of week 40. A few weeks back, and then thuesday they told me that the car was allready in Belgium. But as of now, not yet at the dealer. I hope today...
  11. Mine was build week 40. I will have it this week (friday)
  12. I think I am the king of fast: ordered on 26th of august. Custom build. A lot of options (no pan roof). Tsi motor. Build week 40, And i will have it this week..
  13. Mine is being build this week too. Vrs tsi, race blue, black pack, columbus, lane assist, brake assist, Cruise, heated seats, electric booth. Hope to see it in 2 weeks (mainland europe)
  14. Mine is being build next week, with a columbus. So no delay. Ordered a month ago.
  15. That does indeed look good. I am not sure this will look as good on a the race blue I ordered.
  16. Will this tire be ok if i would like to fit it as a winter tyre to my 18" gemini's. http://www.shop-premio-fuhrmann.de/winterreifen/pirelli-225-40-r18-tl-92v-winter-240-sottozero-2-xl-m-s.html I am not so keen on adding 600 euro on extra alloys
  17. Probably only a "race" from standstill? The traction from standstill will be better for the 4x4 but the 0-200 or 30-120, will be a different story.. Not by much off course. The 1.8 is a fast car
  18. For us Belgian shoppers. I think it is a totaly different story. I just ordered my VRS. It is the first skoda for me. I come from a peugeot 5008. Interior there is also a bit so an so. (Hard plastics). We have a totaly different car culture I think. Most people here drive diesels. (I hate diesel). In a country so small as Belgium, diesel is just not the right choice. Most of the drivers don't drive more then 15k a year with their car. Not too long ago you had to pay a serious amount of taxes to get a VRS on to the road (2500€). Now they have changed the taxes (CO2), and I only have to pay 200€ to get it onto the road. We did not get any Black edition's like the UK, and on the VRS's you just don't get that much discount. No option packs like in the Elegance version. If you compare apples to apples, and then I mean a car that performs as the VRS petrol does, I think it is hard to find a car for that price here. I mean a volvo V60 T5 (not even as fast), is more then 10000€ more expensive. Even more for an Audi A4 (15k), VW GTI (too small, 4k more expensive). The only valid option I was considering was the Focus ST estate. But that is also a smaller car, and the booth is too small. And I think a more personal taste but I like to more boring interiour from the Skoda/VAG group then the screaming interiour of the Ford. The same goes for the upcoming leon ST. It will be cheaper, but a smaller car, and no 2.0 TSI engine comfirmed. I have to say, I did not check leasing prices, because I always buy a car. And my plans are to keep this one pretty long. And one other thing. Our base price for the Octavia RS petrol hatch is 29000€,in Pounds: almost 25000.
  19. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago. Build week 40, est arrival at local dealer, 17th of october. (Tsi full option, no sunroof, left hand drive)
  20. Because of an error in the computer system, I got a discount of almost 20% on my new Vrs. They had to go trough because I had it on signed paper. Too bad for them. (My local dealer had the same thing with one they ordered for demo.) So skoda had too agree on their fault. Off course a one time deal and I am very lucky. So my VFM is way up for the VRS!
  21. Is this true? I read so many different story's. I heard good things about this option too. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm It came from the USA Golf GTI forum. Positive feedback from guys who used that method. (It is more the method I would like to use because going too slow for the first 600 or 1000 miles ...) @hkp: How is the manual shifter? Is it short enough? Is it a smooth shift?
  22. Hi, I ordered mine yesterday. I think one of the first orders in Belgium. petrol estate, Race blue, with black design pack and anthracite Gemini alloys. A lot of other extra goodies: Cruise control, sunset glass, mitsumi, Columbus nav, lane assist, light assist, voice assist, heated seats in the front, electric booth, front assist with emergency braking. I only test drove the Golf GTI, because test driving the RS is going to take a few weeks (no RS available in Belgium for test drive). I needed to make sure to have the car this year.
