  1. Used to commute 300 miles a week (100 miles of that on the Motorway), not a problem. Longest trip - Yorkshire -Dover - Baden - Basel - Burgundy - Calais - Yorkshire - 2,000 miles plus. Cracked 100 mph on the Autobahn (slightly downhill) and conquered the Swiss and French Jura mountains (lol)... Excellent little motor!
  2. My Citigo loved roundabouts... 10 on my daily commute.
  3. Can anyone shed any light on this. ISn't just the same as leasing?
  4. Said goodbye to Scarlet last Wednesday. 2 years and 11 months, ran up 46,000 miles, ticked off Wales, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. Rolled up to a ton on the autobahns. Sad to see her go. Took off my 2nd set of Heko wind deflectors (1st set delivered by Yodel-esque service - shatterd into 6 pieces) Removed the variable boot, as I couldn't order a Variable Boot and Spare Wheel at the dealers - bizarre Skoda ordering glitch. The missus, decided she wanted one... a green Colour Edition, from DM Keith. Interesting to see that things we moaned about 3 years ago (and some the more productive hands on the forum solved these issues), have been taken on board & implemented. NOW - there's a boot light, the parcel shelf raises on opening the boot (2 bits of string) and there's an internal grab handle, which means your hands don't get dirty when shutting the boot. Plus the driver can close the passenger window... think a Polish guy? had the first home grown mod of this. Loved driving Scarlet on my 50-55 mile daily commute, aced the roundabouts and showed willing off the lights. The future.... well I hope the Citigo will get Morego with the 1.0TSi. When I came to looking at direct replacements, found my monthly payments would rise 25%. Due to stingier dealer/Skoda contributions and more pertinently weaker residual values. For the same money (and a £1000 deposit) = an extra £44pcm I could be driving a 1.6 TDi Golf.........).... So still in the extended family. I've still to fit Fiona (think Shrek) with the wind deflectors. Plus I need to source some good mats that clip down ......
  5. Thank you for the advice and help. Hoping to take delivery of the new car in September October... Simon

  7. Missus has just plumped for a Colour Edition model, lime green, black alloys, privacy glass...... nice looking and a good driver...
  8. Just finished my PCP. Thanks to smaller dealer contributions and dwindling guaranteed future values... a like for like swop with my 5dr Green Tech 75..... monthly payments would go up another 25%. Moving on....
  9. Only once managed to accidentally trigger it.... Was exiting car park, when the barrier was raising.... I "jumped the gun" and snuck under.... City Safe slammed the brakes on..... slightly non-plussed. Good to know it worked.
  10. Advice please. What's the craic with insurance on a PCH, if I'm not the registered owner or keeper? Thanks.
  11. Lupo 1.6 GTi..... that was a hot hatch 120hp, sub 8 seconds?
  12. Afternoon Yeti owners. I'm a Citigo owner, who's PCP deal will finish in September/October.... I've a ranging top SE Elegance Green Tech with a few extras..... costing £165pcm (15k pa) Saw this deal on Simpson's: http://www.simpsonsskoda.co.uk/new-car-offers/yeti-laurin-klement-tsi/ YETI OUTDOOR 1.4TSI 150PS 4X4 LAURIN & KLEMENTOn Personal Contract Hire, for 2 years, £2250 upfront, 23 months at £139 pcm, 8k pa. Equivalent to £239pcm (if I do 10k) If I use the Skoda Calculator to spec up the same car.... http://www.skoda.co.uk/tools/finance-calculator/default/ On Personal Contract Plan, for 2 years, £2250 upfront, 23 months at £358 pcm, 10k pa. Equivalent to £437pcm (if I do 10k) AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE? £70pcm to trade up from a Citigo to a Outdoor Yeti L+K As I understand it with PCP, there's a final balloon payment or you can walk away, just like a PCH.... For £200 SKODA YETI 1.2TSI SE 110PS
  13. Have you considered 2nd hand? Price of a new D5500 might be £500? 2nd hand might get you a D7100 or D700 http://www.wexphotographic.com/used-nikon-dslr-cameras/b3242?sortby=1&price_en_gb=400.0%26lt%3bprice_en_gb%26lt%3b500.0 https://www.mpb.com/en-uk/used-equipment/used-photo-and-video/used-digital-slr-cameras/used-nikon-digital-slr-cameras/ I've a D40 (6MP) and am considering a D7000.... and a Sigma 10-20 HSM. Get shot of my 18-55. Keep my 35mm & swop 55-200 for 55-300 or 70-300....
  14. Good luck with the prosecutions... I foresee an outbreak of Nick Freemanitis (Fergusonesis).... http://www.theguardian.com/uk/1999/oct/05/vivekchaudhary
  15. Well keeping my powder dry till the autumn. Probably test drive the Civic and 595 between now and Sunday. Found the Fabia nice to drive, the Yaris a bit woolly and vague.... But yes, I will use carwow as a negotiation tool... Got some quotes through Fabia SE L Tsi 90... 12.9 cash or 13.1 on finance.... so 800 off what I was offered.
  16. I've 6 months to go, so thought to drift around dealerships this week end gone. If I rolled over and got a like for like replacement Elegance 75hp greentech.... my payments would rise from £163 to £185pcm x36months (no deposit).... no deal though,..... Guessing this would be 160-ish on 42 months... Fabia SE 1.2 TSi 90 hp (colour edition?) £217pcm x42 (0 deposit) or £204pcm x42 (£500 dep) , another £9pcm if metallic paint..... both deals 0% APR Toyota Yaris Icon 1.33 VVT £200pcm x42 (£1,000 deposit) 5.5%? Honda Civic S Ltd Edition 1.4iVTEC £217pcm x42 (£1,000 deposit) 5-6%? Abarth 595 TJet 140 £200pcm x42 Abarth 595 Yahama 160 £217pcm x42 (£500 deposit) 4.5% These are all for 15,000 mile per annum.... The 4 sensible options are quite hard to separate... The Fiats... are bit bonkers, 2 seaters, impractical, hard suspension? and high insurance.... Waiting till October...., probably the end of September's the best time for deals?
  17. Last autumn did Yorkshire - Baden-Baden - Switzerland - Burgundy - Yorkshire..... beep beep.... Cracked the ton on the autobahn, went up and down some proper hills.
  18. I've been considering updating my gas boiler, an old Ideal Classic. Guessing it's 20-25 years old, works fine , but probably F or G rated for fuel efficiency. Has anyone on here had a Baxi Ecogen installed? Or Flow energy? http://www.flowenergy.uk.com/flow-boiler-packages/ Is it too good to be true? If you go with Flow Energy's finance.... "Your finance package for the cost of the boiler comes in the form of a 5 year personal loan. The loan repayments will be £75.50 a month. But here’s the clever bit. Flow will then provide a FIXED reduction in your home energy bill of £80 a month (this is on top of any savings you’ve already made by switching your home energy to Flow)." Am I missing something?
  19. Done a ton on the Autobahn...no problem.
  20. I've got Heko ones. Just used the sticky strips & left the metal clips off.
  21. Wiling away the time and stumbled across a couple of Citigo options, currently unavailable here.... a CNG one (Gtec) and noisy one (Sound). http://skoda-auto.cm/en/models/citigo-g-tec/overview/ http://skoda-auto.cm/en/models/citigo-sound/
  22. Wow..... brand new.... YK12 ERF Test Result Fail Odometer reading 6,696 miles
