  1. Please could you post a link to the LED's you bought for your boot light? I haven't had much luck with COB LED's in the past, the ones I have tried just get really hot, start flickering, then die! lol.
  2. I'd like to buy these mate. I'm in Derby so 1hr 25 mins away. Collection isn't a problem.
  3. I actually have some 312mm carriers in the garage but I don't think they will fit the Octy as they are off an Audi TT and were originally bought for my MK1 Fabia VRS. Sometime the carriers alone can be very expensive.
  4. Thanks chaps, I might just have to go with red and look at painting them.
  5. Hello all, I'm not having much luck searching or googling unfortunately so I'm wondering if you could help me please. I am after some 312mm brake calipers and carriers for my car but not really wanting VRS red ones if I can help it. I'm just after plain silver ones that I can bolt straight on. Are there any lesser models than the VRS that have compatible 312mm brakes that will just be in a plain finish? Thanks in advance!
  6. Skoda didn't half get it right with the latest Octavia VRS, what a brilliant looking car. I should imagine you are absolutely chuffed to bits with that!
  7. Absolutely agree with you on the exhaust/tail pipe side of things. Looks a million times better with the cobra fitted. Very nice car!
  8. I like the look of the insignia and looked at one at the time I bought my Octavia. The one thing I was surprised by was how seemingly little room there is inside for such a big car. Will look forward to the pictures!
  9. Hats off to you though, and a number of the other members on the forum for that matter. The attention to detail and commitment on some of these project cars in phenomenal.
  10. It truly is going to break my heart when you actually drive this car for the first time after all this work and things start getting dirty :-(
  11. Watched a rerun of wheeler dealers last night where they resurrected a silver quattro, it definitely is a lovely car. The wheeler dealer one also said "coupe" on the back not "quattro".
  12. Bloody hell, those cars look awesome. I love how much you love Skylines! Lol Your garage is like real life game of Gran Tourismo!
  13. Looking good mate, be nice to see the finished results! I jet washed out my BKD plastic inlet manifold a few weeks ago and don't imagine it has every been off the car before in its 7 years of life. The plastic inlet manifolds seem a lot less prone to as much carbon build up as the aluminium ones.
  14. How short are we talking? I currently drive 2 miles down the road to work in my Octy pd140 in the winter! Lol I do always make a conscious effort to let it warm up though and I have removed the egr valve. I always try and take the car for a good spin at the weekend but what I do with it is far from ideal. Short commutes in any car won't help with regard to carbon build up and there is always a chance you could experience oil emulsification from condensation build up on the inside of the cam cover.
  15. Personally I've always like the contrast between the white backs and the seat material/pattern. They look like they've come off the shelf like this as opposed to having been customised for the car if you know what I mean.
  16. Don't forget service history. The PD engines will suffer if they have been neglected in terms of oil changes or had incorrect spec oil. (That is assuming you mean the MK1 Fabia Vrs)
  17. Nice job that mate, you got a good finish with the crackle paint. There are some incredibly well looked after fabia's on this forum that's for sure!
  18. Must be very satisfying restoring this to its original glory and seeing it all taking shape. It definitely makes good reading!
  19. That car is one hell of an awesome looking bit of kit that's for sure!
  20. Looking good! I wish I was as capable as you are in the car department, I can't believe how quickly you seem to work. It's taken me all day today near enough to delete the egr and remove the egr cooler on my BKD Octavia! Lol
  21. Lofty sorry for the slight off topic and this may sound like a daft question, but would would this stuff you are soaking your block in, remove carbon build up from a plastic inlet manifold? And also a metal egr pipe (I'm thinking specifically on my 2.0 16v tdi Octavia).
  22. My Octavia 2 FL (2.0 16V TDI) had a very similar issue when I bought it which turned out to be the cam position sensor. It was replaced under warranty but equally it was nice and simple because it threw a fault up which could be read via VCDS.
  23. Just out of interest and completely off topic, do you notice almost like a boost leak sound around 2100 rpm which disappears as soon as the revs rive a few hundred rpm past this point? I've only recently noticed it and I'm wondering if it could be some sort of back pressure effect from fitting this gasket? I have no evidence of a true boost leak and I've checked the car over to death!
