  1. Been averaging about 44mpg in my 86ps 1.2tsi SE hatch, 18months from new. Interestingly, filled it with Shell V power last time (curious!), done about 200 miles so far on that tank (with more town driving) and it's showing just under 47mpg; I'm not aware that my right foos's any lighter with this tank either!
  2. Garpat, would you mind telling where you got it wrapped and how much. Thanx
  3. Test drove the Fabia VRS last weekend, just used DSG. Been used to Avensis 2.2diesel with 150 brake and 250 lb/ft torque but this was like the starship Enterprise going to warp. Need to find some money so I can trade in my 86BHP SE. :-(
  4. If you go to saga' get a quote then ask to go to the customer service/retention team for a better price
  5. Exactly. Did that with fogs and driving lights on my mk2 escort and mark 3 cortina in the early 80s. Seen OEM fogs on flea bay for £50ish a few weeks ago. Wire them into the blank for heated seats?
  6. I agree with Wonky; low down torque is good - pulls well all the way from 1500 thru to 3500, makes it easy to drive, quite diesel-like. See if you can get a centre armrest too either dealer or self fitted, some dont like them but it has improved things for me - been used to one in bigger cars :-)
  7. Dash looks good 32K.How did you get the piano black on the vent surrounds etc? Is it just a case of unclip, prime and spray? Mine is still in warranty - would that be affected by painting? How difficult to remove the trim?
  8. Correct me if Im wrong but doesnt the A1 1.4 only have a turbo?????
  9. Neverhad deflectors on a car before. How do they fit? Any idea how much the heko ones are
  10. Agree re cost of climate also read posts that its not a very good system. Correct re retrofit of climate can't change manual controls to electronic' except maybe at great cost and full dash out
  11. IMO are a little bit too black- in retrospect wish I'd got climate fitted to look better- does anyone know if those from say a Citigo or Polo with the chrome detailing are interchangeable; if so, what sort of cost and how easy to change. Retrospect is a wonderful thing!!!!!!! :-) Cheers guys
  12. Mine has manual a/c. Never had any problems. Any misting clears quickly with fan on max and directed to screen, even if a/c turned off.. Condensation (water droplets on screen) obviously takes longer. Clears 200% better than my wifes's Jazz. Would agree with clearing whatever dealer smears the screen with though
  13. 1.2tsi 86ps. October 2012 with 16500 miles - so far no problems - pulls nice and strong from 2k-3krpm. Understand it is not a high pressure turbo.
  14. Thru last winter while running in never got better than42. This last summer with 10 - 12k on clock average 46-47. Run it 80 and it shows38ish, keep below 60 and it'll do49 - 50
  15. I looked at it from the 'looks prettier' aspect as well; have made initial enquiries of dealer whether dial controls for the manual system are available with chrome detailing; dealer said no, although the chrome detailed ones on Polo and Citigo appear similar; does anyone know if they fit the FL Fabia.
  16. Prykey, you got it in one. Trinket tray out, 4 bolts in to secure base of rest, clip on armrest surround, job done.
  17. Logic says with the manual aircon unit, the controls are physically attached to the 'shutters' directing airflow etc whereas with climate the shutters are moved electronically ' therefore not interchangeable. I don't have pointy ears however. :-)
  18. Any problems, just ask. I check the site10amish and 9pmish.
  19. Thank, that's useful. Was it a Japanese manufacturer half way between the toon and the Wear by any chance :-) Back on thread, previous request to dealer to supply fogs was met with a bit retisence- other than breakers, any suggestions- is Cars Equipment the name of the supplier
  20. Pleased there's someone equally as shallow as I, but somewhat braver to admit it first. Had fogs on my 2 Avensis and Laguna and, looking back, the onlytime I used them regular was on a single carriageway road in the dark and wet with lots of oncoming traffic to help counteract the glare from the oncoming traffic. Fot the shallow amongst us, do the black plastic trim panels just clip out backwards and the fog units clip in the same space :-)
  21. I was looking at this from the same point of view as Skoda when they did the FL and widened the grille and headlamp units; have a look at a FL car, one without fogs (eg standard SE spec) and one with fogs (eg Elegance spec and lights off) and no misty stuff floating in the atmosphere around the car. :-) IMO Elegance looks better!
  22. Ditto for a 1.2tsi. Also helps to widen the stance of the car.
  23. Skoda supply a shorter one for above the number plate recess; supply £30. Ive also seen one on ebay for £19 inc postage that goes along the trailing edge of the hatch lid. Sort of fancy one ; has any one fitted one, whats the quality like. Any opinions on which looks best. Thanks
