  1. Have a look at an earlier thread on the same subject: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/304626-octavia-4x4-mpg-help/
  2. Same comments about the vibration on my 150 4x4. But I am on summer tyres. Consumption for the last 100 hours was 45mpg.
  3. Yes, my tdi 4x4 only came with SKODA on the left and OCTAVIA on the right. Even they have come off now and the only give away is the small "4x4" on top of the gear stick. Very stealthy!
  4. Mine does that too, usually to somebody abroad!
  5. I de-badged mine for the following simple reasons : 1) letters always snag on cloths and sponges 2) they are a pain to clean 3) much prefer the clean look and the letters don't add to the aesthetics. 4) don't really see the point of having the make and model of the car spelled out for all to see personally, thought I accept others may disagree on this point Here is a simple way to de-badge-
  6. I am sure most lawyers specialising in consumer laws can give initial "free advice" on the phone before charging. I would also contact Skoda UK direct. Judging by some of the responses others have received from them, it may be worthwhile to bypass the dealer to get results!
  7. This is "interesting". I was initially told by the dealers that the service interval was 10,000 (9,400) miles until I told them that my previous VAG Alhambra with the same engine had a variable interval (up to 20,000 miles or 2 years). On checking the Service Schedule, he confirmed that my engine did indeed have long life oil in and could go up to 20,000 miles! So they reset the computer back to variable. I have now done about 12000 miles and the computer hasn't asked me to have a service yet. So all appear OK. I may be wrong, but I think the dealers are a bit naughty here by setting the cars for 10,000 when they don't need it. Have a read of the vehicle data page (inside front page) of the Service Schedule. There are 6 rows x 7 columns of 3 alphanumeric codes. If the code on the 4th column, 3rd row is "Q16" your engine can have Variable Service Interval. It should cut your service cost by half!
  8. For my 2L DTI 4x4 manual, It has now done 11000 miles. The long term fuel consumptions shown on the computer were as follows:- 1st 100 hours, at averaged speed of 34.7 mph, consumption = 44.1mpg 2nd 100 hours, at averaged speed of 33.8 mph, consumption = 44.1mpg 3rd 100 hours, at averaged speed of 37.4 mph. consumption = 43.2 mpg the computer figures have been checked many times against fill to fill calculated mpg and have shown to be accurate with +/- 0.5% Hope that helps! 11. Check out previous topic on this: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/295536-resetting-windows-to-one-touch-close/
  12. Interesting to read that you are finding it sensitive to wind (cross wind I assume?) because I don't find it on mine and I have clocked up about 11k now under varying conditions. The only mechanical difference between our cars is the RRH option. Do you think that this may have something to do with the raised height?
  13. Thank you all for your input. Have a nice day!
